There are plenty of great Japanese games that get localized in NA and UK, they're just not talked about much on SW. I mostly play Japanese games.

I own mostly Western games. however i do have a few Japanese games.

However i should say this. most of the Japanese games i own are games that emulate the Western style games...

I mean currently JRPG's i've bought this generation.

Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 13, and Valkyria Chronicles.

[QUOTE="shadow_hosi"] honestly i had low expectations for crackdown, i got it mostly for the halo 3 beta, but man. what a great game

I got it after Killerfist or SpurceCaboose told me to. One of them two loved it. I really disliked the game. I am not a fan of sandbox games anyways. I still tried it though based on just what either of those two recommend.

If Bethesda, Bioware, Ubisoft, Treyarch, and Bungie are all American, then yes.

Japanese, Western, European, etc I do not have a preference in the region the game was developed in. As long as the game is good that is all that matters.

Since there are little to no Japanese games on the PC (other than Capcom games), I play North American games, Western and Eastern European games.

Not really, in fact the only japanese developer i literally hate is Square Enix. I never liked any Final Fantasy games and i never will, and with only a few exceptions they seem to only concentrate on the FF series, and i for one am sick of it.

[QUOTE="topgunmv"]

The majority of my games are "western" developed, as in Russia, Europe, and NA. Come to think of it, the only "eastern" games I have this gen were developed by nintendo.

Salt_The_Fries
Russia is not considered western by any means.

Why not? It spans both Europe and Asia (Eurasia).

I'd say about an 80% to 20% split in favour of Western (not just American) games. It used to be pretty much the other way around, but to put it bluntly, Japanese games as a whole ain't what they used to be. There still are some real gems, but the general games... Meh, whatever.

Nope. It always seems to be a mix of all regions.

I like Rare, and Nintendo, and Capcom, and Bungie, and DICE, and Crytek, and Valve, etc etc.

I play games if they're good, and appeal to me, and every region provides good games I like.

First, the OP in not only his title, but in his post said he likes AMERICAN and/or NORTH AMERICAN games, but he goes on to say he likes GTA. GTA is not an "AMERICAN" made game. So the OP has a serious contradiction or possibly dilemma on his/her hands.

Me personally, I don't care where my games are made....it could be made on the moon or Mars for all I care....I only care about the game...period.

That said, I don't really care for TURN BASED games unless they are strategy games like civilization. So that in itself means I have a propensity to not like many Japanese based games, specifically, JRPG's. I never understood why I should play a game that does stuff for me. I don't to issue a command and the game executes some long drawn out sequence of events....it's stupid to me, and I felt that way about Final Fantasy 7 many years ago, even though I really enjoyed the story. I loved the story, hated the gameplay. I realize that's just me, but I won't play many JRPG's because I want full REAL TIME control over my own characters.

Interesting though, I really liked FF TACTICS gameplay, but didn't enjoy the story.

*shrug*
