Do you plan on buying any games from the PS3/Vita store before it closes?

Apparently there are some hidden gems to be bought before the store closes. For example, I never played God Hand or the Fatal Frame games. I think there are a lot more I need to research. Radical Reggie just did a video on PS1 games to check out before the store closes. I hope he does a ps2 video lol. What say you, SW? Will you be doing some purchases on the PS3/Vita store before it closes?

I’ve purchased a bunch of the PS1 and PS2 classics on the PS3 store but there are still a few more that I’d like to get before it closes.

Why would you buy them when Sony wont allow you to play them on your PS5 without charging you through PS NOW like they did with the PS4.

@i_p_daily: I still have ps1, ps2, and ps3. Trying to get these games physically will cost a lot more. And some of these games never had a physical version.

I'm pretty covered. As far as good buys go, though, it's cool that Echo Night shows up in that graphic. That's a bit of a hidden gem.

If they would work on the PS5, Yes! Otherwise, I will explore other means.

Maybe. The US market has much more games available compared to PAL regions. I can't stand PS1 graphics on the PS3. The screen definition is terrible.

@omegamaster: It's nice to have the option of ps1 on ps3, but yeah, those graphics ain't purdy. The smoothing especially looks awful.

So sad. They had lot of great digital PS1/PS2 classics. They never brought them to PS4, nor bridged user rights. Such a goddamn waste. I blame the gaming press though for their complacency with that, never holding Sony's feet to the flame over it. But the gaming press were too intoxicated with their statuses as "industry insiders" for maintaining their NeoGAF accounts and in that environment Sony could do no wrong, and they echoed that BS.

No. I got all the games that I wanted on my PS3 so I'm good.

I need to double check, but Im pretty sure Im good with what I have on the PS3 and Vita.

Real shame though they are shutting the stores down.

I just mostly use my Vita to play old games I have bought a long time ago, PS1 and PSP classics, and as a Remote play device for my PS4. I've been making a list of Vita titles I want since this announcement was rumored. I'm finding that many/most of what I still want I can buy off on PS4 Store. So, the trick at this point is going to be identifying what I want that is exclusively available on Vita, and doesn't have a physical version. So far, I haven't identified many, maybe a half dozen so far. So, as unfortunate as this is, and it is unfortunate since I've only had the damn thing for 2 years as of now, I should be able to mitigate the suck.

With all of that said, it looks PS Vita fans (assuming we have any on SW) are gonna have to move on to Switch/Lite and hopefully the Super Switch aka Switch Pro and I don't see Sony ever competing the handheld market anymore and even if they did, Sony is gonna have to really earn their fans trust.

Couldn't care less about some old ass games. Give me the new stuff.

@wandering_halls: That's it. I remember playing the PS1 version of Final Fantasy 8 on the PS3 and it was pixelated as hell. Literally unplayable. Thankfully Square released an enhanced version on PS4.

Doubt it. Might look one last time through the ps1 classics for anything to throw onto my psp, but I'm definitely not spending another dime on my ps3

Same. There's nothing I truly need on PS3, so everything I have and bought for is pretty much complete on my end. It's been 3 years since I turn it on for that matter. I can understand Sony wanting to shutdown PS3/PSP store but I would argue they should leave Vita open till 2023 despite Vita is 9 years old. I also feel sorry for anyone who purchase PSP Go however.

Pretty much the sole reason I keep my PS3 is because of MGS 4 and the MGS HD Collection lol. Come on Konami, bring it over to current gen systems already!

I have about $6 in my psn wallet I need to spend, so yeah, probably pick up a ps1 classic.

Might add more though as physical copies of Devil Summoner 2 have skyrocketed in price lately.

@sakaixx: I'm not 100% sure if I'm understanding what you getting at, but if you've bought digital games off the ps3/vita/psp store you can redownload them after the stores are closed.

That's the thing that sucks about an all digital future. Not sure why anyone would push for this.

Vita is an incredible handheld.... In some ways better than switch. I played lots of vita. Own a huge library of games for it and even set some top scores with it... Several global top 5s in both Ollie Ollie and super meat boy.

If Sony made another one I'd buy it.

I'm tempted to buy a classic RPG that i never played like Vagrant Story, Xenogears or Suikoden ... those are like the games that have eluded me for so many years now.

Just bought Yakuza Dead Souls and The Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Apparently the latter sells for hundreds of dollars for the physical copy. PSN has it for $5.99 😎

That will never happened, and this is coming from a guy who wishes Sony to continue with the handheld market and do it right. Guess my Switch will have to do.

I wound up grabbing Grandia so I might replay it someday. Maybe.

I experienced the craziest thing today. I put my disc copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma into the PS3, and was able to play the game right away. No download required 😮
