Do you prefer Console or PC gaming?

PC that runs new games - what, $900? not for the best parts, but a pretty good one. Console = $300 for a 360 with 2 games? I don't get it. If you mean prices of games, it's $10 difference new, but console games have more special offers when new, and eventually they all go so far down- pc games typically disappear before they reach $10 unless they're classics.PC. Much more economically viable and overall satisfying, especially when you learn to take the hardware/software problems with the "double the trouble, twice the fun" attitude.

Console gaming without a doubt. PC gaming is ok, but i dislike the exclusives, much prefer console games like GT, Forza, god of war, Halo etc.racing1750You don't like Generic-Looks-Like-Every-RTS-OUT-THere #2102? How about it's AAA expansion, expansion to generic rts #6729?

Erm, you realize PC games "disappear" at a far slower rate than console games ever do, right? Not to mention $10 difference adds up quick, but there are plenty of PC games that go far lower than $50. $900 would you buy you an excellent PC, but more than you'd need. ...where do you get your reasoning from? In the long run, you technically do spend less buying a PC.PC. I have a couple of games, but the majority are rts, and that's undeniable. PC gaming would be mainly for multiplatform titles for me. RTS make up a majority of pc games, easily.

MograineYour comparison is utterly void. You are taking as example a years old machine sold at a loss against a newly built rig with latest tech. Buying a lot of games that 10$ difference gets much, much wider, and you are not counting Steam deals where the difference is even wider. Do pc gamers not honestly realize that you can buy console games for extremely cheap? I got Mirror's Edge, Crackdown, GRAW, Tales of Vesperia, and so much more for $10. Then again, there still are people complaining about ODST's price, completely having neglected all the good deals that were available at launch. People around here really don't understand the concept of shopping around. I have 100+ games. I've probably spent less than people with half that amount here.
I can't believe how much these digital download places are monopolizing the minds of pc gamers. These aren't good deals people, they're just in front of your eyes.

But the 360 still will play something like Metro 2033 and it'll look 99% like the pc version, save the resolution (which isn't that big of a deal anyway- no dev creates textures that large anyway). A $400 pc won't make that game look as good as the 360 version. Of course this is fact, but we like to pretend, ay?
Anyway, I quit pc gaming after I couldn't play BFME2 with my brother due to problems. I just wanted something simple, but I had to work mountains around it.
Consoles. Used to love PC, but if you lose that love for playing with hardware, it's soon to follow.lowe0It's all about the games, not the hardware.

Really?
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/2546/
This has 22 games in a single package. Buying all these games indivdually would be $259.81
However, since it's a package, it's less than half that price. You're telling me that isn't a good deal?!

did you not realize the ridiculous amount steam holiday sales at all this past month?Well i feel that pc gaming has become less relevantlate 90s and early 2000s were the golden age of pc for me . These days i find that there is just less fud on consoles . Pc still have advantages i like however i cant see how a high end pc would be worth the money at this rate .
I dont like windows that much . its unsafe and buggy and slow . once you had much time with linux and osx windows yes even 7 look lame . If ms let devs use open GL then everyone could play . Open gl is better then dx . Pc gaming would be better on linux faster and over 100$ cheaper .

BS My $400 rig will utterly destroy any console game out there. I see this in Borderlands, Oblivion, Bioshock, Fallout 3, and Dragon Age. Oh, and I average like 50FPS in most places in Crysis on high @ 1366x768.you're 9800gtx and athlon x2 5000 does not utterly destroy consoles...its better, but does not destroy and its highly unlikely you're averaging 50fps @ high with your setup in crysisYour comparison is utterly void. In my experience it's just the oppsite. I tend to get tons of good deals off Steam and Direct2drive. I cant recall the last game I bought at full price for the PC.. Dragon Age Collectors edition for $45 is probably the closest. Over the last month I've bought games like STALKER Clear Sky, Mirros Edge, Kings bounty 2, Burnout Paradise (Including all the DLC) all for $5-$10.
Where are you buying your cheap console games? I'm not questioning that you do, I just never see deals like that. The occational Platinum game for $20 and the used games at GameStop for $30-40, but not down into the $10 range, so I'd love to hear where you're getting yours.

I agree that it's highly unlikely he's averaging 50 fps on high with crysis (I have a fairly similar rig as him) but I do agree that with that kind of rig you already see a noticable upgrade in graphics if you compare them to the console counterparts.
So saying it "destroys" is maybe a little bit exaggerated but it's more than just "better".
Consoles. Used to love PC, but if you lose that love for playing with hardware, it's soon to follow.lowe0I couldn't have said it any better. Pretty much the same thing happened with me. It doesn't hurt that consoles are no longer light years behind the PC as far as gaming goes.

And many new PC games are lower than $49.99. Not to mention the fact that prices drop much more quickly than only consoles where users. Most of my new PC games are bought for $39.99, like Dragon age which I got for $35 from Direct2Drive. PC gamers save more money than console gamers.PC. Thats still more then a console. Consoles are better then PCs.
