I like TPSes much better. It immerses me more into the game when I can see my character actually doing stuff and reacting to the environment, rather than just gliding over terrain like in most FPSes.

I put round 400 hours into Socom 2 online. So based on that, I guess TPS

I find that the odds are better for innovation in TPS's but aside from that I like them both equally.

I guess FPS but i enjoyed Gears a lot so i equally like TPS. Tbh i don't really care where i view the character from as long as the game is good.

As long as I can shoot someone in the head, I like both perspectives.

I generally FPS more. The perspective doesn't affect my feeling of immersion. For example, I found Bioshock to be incredibly immersive, and I couldn't even see my own feet....

I like TPS because you tend to have more freedom and walking over stuff seems more realistic.

It depends.

I used to prefer FPS over TPS. Then I played Uncharted.

I prefer FPS games on 360 and PC, and TPS on PS3. Still think 360 has the best controller in the world for FPS, which I prefer. FPS games just don't feel right on the PS3 controller, feel like my thumbs are gonna crash into each other or something. Got through Resistance, though!

I guess FPS, since I've never played a Third Person Shooter as good as Deus Ex, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Half-Life 2, Unreal Tournament 2004, etc. It really just has more to do with the games than the perspective. There are just more incredible FPS games out there than there are TPS games.

FPS games. TPS are either TOO slow, or TOO clunky and i cant think of one that has a good story for a more immersive feel.

FPS games have just flat out owned the TPS games we have ever seen.

Half Life
Half Life 2
Halo 1
Halo 2
Halo 3
SYstem Shock
System Shock 2
Bioshock
Deus Ex
Rainbow Six 3(the PC)
Unreal 2k4
Unreal 99
Tribes
CounterStrike
Team Fortress
Marathon
Fear
Call of Duty
Call of Duty 4
Medal of Honor Allied Assault

FPS games have just been better IMO.

Dun't matter to me, really. Both types are great, it's just that I'm bad at Gears.

Generally, I prefer FPS. In my opinion, it's a more immersive experience. It feels like I'm the one in the action.

I haven't played too many TPSes to begin with, other than Mercenaries, Socom, RE4 & Max Payne series.

Depends. I enjoyed Gears, Uncharted and RE4 (one of, if not the best game of last gen), but I also enjoyed the games in the Orange Box, the Halos, CoD4 and several others. So either one really. Just depends on the quality of the game.

FPS. Hell, I practically grew up on them. I remember fondly playing the original Doom, Doom II and Duke Nukem 3D on my dad's PC, later playing Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on the N64... the list goes on. I love the good TPS every now and then, but FPSes hold a special place in my heart.

I think it really just depends on what game it is. I mean I had a blast with games like COD4 but didn't with games like TimeShift. Also I had a blast playing Gears of War but didn't with Kane and Lynch. So it just depends if the TPS and FPS game delivers or not.

I like FPS more. It immerses me more into the game when i see and act in the perspective of the my character, rather than just feeling like i'm controlling a puppet.

I like them both very much but guess TPS is slighty more fun with consoles and FPS more fun with PC.
