if it's a game i really like, i'll read it to see if anything interesting is in there.
this thread reminded me of the dk64 manual. towards the end, there's a pic of cranky saying "wow, you're still reading this? you must really suck"
Cover to cover. Best bathroom reading material in the history of the world.donalbane
Indeed.
Kind of reminds me of the days when I would bring my game gear to the toilet and actually finish Sonic chaos while sitting there.
It was a very entertaining hour, the aroma wasn´t quite nice though:P
Same here. I like reading on the way home.Yes, I normally buy a game, open it, and read the manual before I get home, and before I start the game of course.

As much as I relish in huffing the fresh ink of a new game manual, I don't miss them much anymore. PSP Go is all DD so no more manuals for me!
I only read them for the backstory and characters background along with the game artwork, aside from this most game usually have some sort of tutorial at the beginning to ease the transition for anyone new to the series. Also can't forget that most of the stuff in the manual are also on some of the game option menu.
no, not really because id rather figure stuff out other than reading the manual. i would only read it if it was a fighting game.
I never read the manual unless there is something the game doesn't tell me that I can't figure out.
Who were the 6 people who answered they couldn't read?
I used to when I was younger, but nowadays, pretty much never. There's usually nothing interesting, and anything the manual says is stated in the game anyway.
Yes, but not as often and thorough as in the days of BG2 and Planescape: Torment. They were a hell of a lot more expansive and you pretty much had to read them to grasp the concepts.
