one could say that it hinders old gameplay but makes new gameplay fun.Yeah. Motion only hinders real games (Punch out) and only makes stupid games more fun (wii sports).

Wiimote = Gimmick. Glow stick = Legendary. That's just the way it works.

you also forgot, the wiimotion+ dosent do the same stuff the sony dilmote dose :P
in sonys dreams maybe :P nunchuck and wiimote+ = awesomness[QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"]
A) Eyetoy >Wii remote
B) SSBB GC controller> Wii remote
C) MS, Sony motion tech> Wii motion tech
D) They're all gimmicks.
E) Have a nice weekend.
F) Don't forget to floss.
G) Transformers 2, June 24hDeadEndPanda
buttons and something to move with are nessesery, sonys dilmote dosent have anything to move with, while natal dosent even have any buttons
Would be more awesome if it worked well with the Wiis funnest game.Yes. Just like sony and microsoft's recent showings. Just like the eyetoy was. Gimmicks aren't such a big problem if you don't base your entire console on them.

A) Wrong.
B) Some people I've played with have been really good with the Nunchuck/Wiimote set up or Wiimote alone.
C) Obviously. If it wasn't it would have been a waste and laughable
D) Nope
E) Thanks
F) I won't
G) Crappy movie is going to be crappy movie, like the first - because Michael Bay likes big explosions and thats it.
While it may be a gimmick Wii remote can make the controls better for games but it depends on the genre.

this is the point most people dont get.
lets take natal as an example.
fighting games HELL yes
FPS? no thanks

People will still be asking this next gen when all the consoles are motion controlled. Let go of the buttons, people.
I'll never let go of my buttons until I can completely control games with my brain like the PlayStation 9 promised. Have you seen Natal? buttons are neccessary.Yes, I have, which is why I consider the Glow Sticks better than Natal. I'm not anti-buttons, I'm anti-all buttons, all the time.
I can see the appeal of all-buttons. Solid, reliable, no interpretation. I press a button/push a stick/pull a trigger it responds predictibally every time. No muttering about how my stroke was off by a couple degrees...[QUOTE="SerpentX541"]

Fighting games? Are you series? I don't know about you but I certainly don't have an inner Kazuya Mishima or an inner Blanka ready to leap out. Plus that lag puts it out of the quaestion. Now I could see a very good boxing game using Sony's controller.[QUOTE="SerpentX541"]

boxing would be pritty good with ps3's dilmote, basicly the same as with the nintendo wiimote+
the diffrence been 2 dilmotes vs 1 wiimote+ and nunchuck
[QUOTE="legol1"]nintendo sold a broken controler and sold the missing part after and you are force to buy it if you want to play wii motion plus enable games .smell the coffe and wake up.Thunderdronelol, the games that exist right now where designed with the tech the Wiimote offered, direction, rotation, proximity, IR pointing and acceleration are detected flawlessly. M+ is something entirely diferent, it detects the position of your arm and, obviously, more directions. Now answer me, how THE HELL can it be broken if the games where designed with the old tech in mind. NMH, MW, BB, MG, MP3, etc... all work wonderfully
Wrong. Way wrong. You could swing your arms in any direction in no more heroes and still do the finishing move. That game had broken Wii controls but was still fun.

not any direction, it reads the entire Y-axis as one move, same with the X- axis. But it was more accurate than most people give it credit for.Its a gimmick. Gimmick attract casuals. Enough said. Just for the fact some games like SSBB play better with a classic or gamecube controller mean that it wasn't so revolutionary as Nintendo made it out to be.
Shadow2k6
The fact that Gran Turismo plays better with a wheel, Street Fighter plays better with an arcade stick, light gun games play better with the GunCon, FPs play better with M&K/IR means the Dual Shock, 360 Controller are utter crap
amirite

LOL no. It reads directional swipes PERFECTLY. The thing is, humans are not robots, we cant move an object horizontaly and verticaly perfectly all the time while we are focused on something else (game). The fact that the remote read a diagonal (left to right) swipe as a perfect right swipe doesnt mean its detection is broken, its forgiving game design. At this point, I do not know how anyone call it a "fad." Maybe in Japan.
Is it bad for the industry? I tend to say "no," but in all honesty, who the hell knows?
For me, it is a "gimmick." Unless we are talking about IR, such as Link's Crossbow Training, or a Wii Sports, motions controls almost always feel forced. More games that give you the option of traditional control, such as Punch-Out, or Mario Kart Wii, the better things will be, IMHO.
