To run on the X360 well? It looks to godly.

Halo is known for the insanely inappropriate amounts of bloom lighting the games tend to use, and while I would say its not possible at this point I just know lems are going to run in here and say "Alan Wake can do it 360 exclusive na na na". I think its possible for lighting like that, but even then it would likely require some cuts on other aspects of the graphics to work on the lighting for it to be so good by fall.
It depends. If you are looking through a PS3 fanboy's eyes then no. If you are looking through a sane person's eyes then probably.
Halo 3 used some of the best lighting this gen, so who knows. They're barely on the alpha build now, and the screenshots they released were pretty good.

Didn't they say they are going towards alpha still? Also the shots they took we're pre-alpha from months ago, not current pre-alpha.
Sure, that's a umm cut screen. It's not like the 360 actually has to process that light real-time. the real question I think you need to be asking is, "Will Bungie be able to get lighting like the VGA trailer during in-game realtime game play."
*edit*
Also why is this lighting being talked about as if it's something impressive? It looks pretty standard if you ask me, it's not KZ2 amazing or anything, what am I missing or am I a fanboy because the lighting in that pic isn't impressive to me.
The lighting in Demon's Souls looks about as good as what I'm seeing here and PS3 fans arent' trying to tell xbox fans that it's the best lighting ever or anything...because it's not, neither is what's being shown in Reach but I'm well aware of how xbox fans promote their games...
BTW: All of these pictures are in-game, not cut-sceen
those screens were proven to be fake when gameplay screens came out few weeks ago.

Really? Pre-alpha screens give proof on what the final build will look like?
...I guess common sense isn't so common anymore.

saying that Reach is currently in alpha would be a safe guesstimation.Their last podcast Bungie said, more or less, that pre-alpha was around Thanksgiving, alpha is now, and beta is this "spring".

I don't believe we know the exact stage of development, but saying that Reach is currently in alpha would be a safe guesstimation.Their last podcast Bungie said, more or less, that pre-alpha was around Thanksgiving, alpha is now, and beta is this "spring".
I thought they said they are "racing toward Alpha", could be wrong w/e.

That is not even close, halo 3 has the most technically proficient lighting this gen(Two frame buffers, both at 640p)
Don't know about all gen, but on consoles it, at least it was, the top. And everything from Halo 3 is being redone and done better in Reach. That is not even close, halo 3 has the most technically proficient lighting this gen(Two frame buffers, both at 640p)

Excluding crysis and possibly stalker.

It all sounds good...but what would KZ2 and UC2 have been if people only spouted technical mumbo jumbo this and that while the games themselves looked only just as good as all the other games on the market?
I've heard it all before, it's even used with Halo3...I don't know why. It looks like standard bloom from almost and current gen game on the market. I'm not trying to dis it but I'm not going to force myself so see something that's not there either.
at the end of the day the lighting in this (and this is a cut-screen)...
Dosen't look anymore impressive than the lighting used in this...(and this is in-game)
Also you shouldn't put so much stock into developer technical mumbo jumbo. Kojima had an entire novel worthof BS he was feeding fans for almost 2 yaers and in the end it turned out to be just an ordinary game with a rediclious amout of overly long maditory installs, and a cringe whorty story that makes me wonder who in the h*** he came up with the other 3 god whorty games and stories before it.
The lighting in the game is fine but don't over-blow it by trying to say it's the best ever when it's clearly not regardless of what techincal mumbo jumbo the developer is spouting.
