Do you think Crackdown 3 is worst than Anthem or Mass Effect Andromeda?

I imagine a ton of people who claim EA is devil will still buy their game, even with shitty paid content like $20 skins, which is only the tip of iceberg that will be their monetization efforts.

I remember tons of people hyped MEA, but then utterly failed and was a botched game at launch, and all the journalists laughed at it.

Here comes Crackdown 3 and people are savage to it, and its only guilty of being basically what it was meant to be, despite having changed studios and losing company doing the cloud. People don't seem to be hating on it for shitty paid content, or having major jank with technical problems, but hating on it cause it isn't what journalists said it'd be? No one seems to be hating on game play or that the concept is lame, it's just deserving of hate for existing I guess.

Honest opinions, do you really think MS are bastards for making this game? And as cow or awesome Xbox owner, does it really bother you that Xbox didn't make Crackdown 3 into a goty worthy game? And most of all, what you've seen of Crackdown 3, do you really find it more despicable than MEA and Anthem?

@jaydan: There is no reviews, just what people say from the Beta, and you know, all the rant videos about $20 armor, and there confusing as hell "who can play what when" chart.

So I'm basing it off the incredible hate people have for E (supposedly). So I imagine a ton of people gonna buy Anthem and be the ones saying Crackdown 3 is lame.

I loved the first game, didnt play the second.

The first game was just really fun running around collecting orbs and getting faster and stronger while shooting shit up.

Im hoping this is the same but even better.

Im gonna be playing the game when it comes out, and im sure it gonna be pretty fun to play, gonna be a good day.

So it can't be worse than Anthem because it has no reviews yet.

Letdown 3 is already a flop. Add another trash game to the bone’s library.

The question we keep asking ourselves is... why THIS game instead of Scalebound? We keep hearing Scalebound wasn't shaping up, but it looked way better in its raw state than Crackdown 3 looks in its final form. Moving on with this game was not a good call.

I think I agree with you (if im reading your post correctly)

Crackdown 3 and Scalebound have both been through long development times and your question is why stick with Crackdown over the new IP? Totally legit question and I agree.

My guess is that Microsoft owns the IP and has more control over the developer and process than it did with Scalebound (even though they own that as well but other licenses are involved).

MS's relationship with Platinum soured after many missed milestones and technical problems so I guess it was an easy choice?

Personally, I wouldve given the fresh-looking game to one of the many 3rd party devs to finish even if it took 2-3 more years to finish.

Who knows, maybe they will give it to Obsidian and make a proper RPG out of it :)

I think the real question is why all journalists seem to be focusing on everything but the actual game. I looked up IGN's written shit, and it was basically recap of everything we don't need to know. People keep telling us what they don't like, and when those say something they do, their stoned and lynched for saying anything nice about it.

Obviously there is always the camp that won't even tolerate Xbox, and the camp who will show a least some respect after they make a HZD/BotW equivalent game. But with Crackdown 3, people are being fucking savages online. The worst Xbox hater here, I can live with, and I'm fine with Xbox comment sections filled with haters reminding of us shit, and I tolerate it cause usually where they are coming from has ounces of truth. Now with Crackdown 3, with mass internet wide hate from what seems everyone, after just hearing first thoughts and seeing first 20 minutes, its like everyone is acting like a SW Cow.

Xbox did all this work to build good will, wasn't even a week ago people crying over their super bowl commercial. Yet average gamer online acting like the biggest cows here, I know cows are cool and all, but damn. Saying shit like its a mobile game, they canceled Scalebound and not this, this is what X's power is for, looks like 360 game, looks like PS2 game, etc. Its the same echo chamber we saw with State of Decay and Sea of Thieves, except all gamers. Like they all don't know about Game Pass, and forgot Xbox doubled their game maker force, and like everyone doesn't know this was a Matterick game.

I really want to know when Xbox will finally get benefit of the doubt, and at least have a fair mind going into their games, even if shit, everyone just wants to hate them and always looking for reasons, yet EA/Konami/Take2/Activistion doing way worst shit, but their games aren't getting slaughtered.

The answer is QUITE obvious looking at the type of games M$ has released the past few years.

Despite MS being the wealthiest console company in the industry, they didn't want to invest the funds it would take to create a honest AAA title like Scalebound required, so they axed it for the cheaper indie.

Any other excuse MS comes out with is a lie because Crackdown 3 has had an even more dubious, delayed and botched up development history than Scalebound had development time.

Crackdown 3 looks like it has the development budget of a McDonalds happy meal. There are more advanced Dreams games created from non developers in it's 6 week Beta period than Crackdowns 5 year dev cycle.

Regardless of what anyone says Platinum was trying to develop a AAA for MS.

It was MS who demanded they turn it from single player into a muliplayer service title to push XBL subs but didn't want to give Platinum the extra funds an AAA like Scalebound needed. When the project stalled because MS refused to increase Platinum's budget, MS simply cancelled it to go forward with the cheaper Happy Meal budget game.

The same thing happened with the Phantom Dust remake, this isn't something new from M$.

If you hadn't notice, MS hasn't released a single AAA title other than Quantum Break outside of Forza since 2016, a project that was announced in 2013! In fact can you think of a single MS AAA title MS funded since this generation began?

There's the tried and true yearly Forzas and now another Gears to close out the generation in 2019, that's it! Talk about "playing it $afe" eh?

It's really not the Xbox fans hyping Crackdown 3 at all. They know this game isn't as good as we saw from the reveal and it's been development hell for so long, this game isn't worth hyping at all if ever. There's a reason why it's on Game Pass in the first place.

The real kicker here is that, despite initial impressions, Mass Effect: Andromeda is actually a really good game. So it's entirely possible that Crackdown 3, like most games, is worse than ME: A.

Anthem isn't out yet, so that's impossible to tell.

Crackdown to me is sort of like the Dead Rising series. They are both “B rated” franchises and would never get a game that is critically acclaimed or GotY worthy. Crackdown 3 seems to be on par with the first 2 games and will satisfy the fans of the franchise. So, while it may not blow away critics or sell millions of copies, it’ll still please its core fanbase and do what it was sent out to do.

As others have said I expect Crackdown 3 to be another entry in the crackdown series, nothing revolutionary, nothing really of note, "comic booky" action for mindless fun great for those who are fans completely skippable for everyone else, I'd hope it's better than Andromeda in that it's actually enjoyed by fans of the series, as for Anthem who knows? Anthem is going to live and die based on post launch support and how egregious monetisation efforts are.

@saltslasher: Andromeda was actually a really great game. Crackdown 3 is probably going to suck, but I'd play that game any day over Anthem, which disappoints me so much with its always online crap. What happened to the good old single-player experience back in the Mass Effect 1-3 days?

if Anthem was single player I'd actually be hyped for it.

Shitty greedy developers killing my enthusiasm for gaming with their forced nicke n dime approach to everything.

But every MS exclusive comes to gamepass day one. Does that mean they all suck? Lol

@boxrekt: It was rhetorical. But yeah, so far not much has been great outside Forza. Gamepass is an awesome deal and I'd cancel my Netflix to get it if I had an Xbox. But I don't see how great games(big budget and quality 90+), can make it on there and be profitable.
