@uninspiredcup: my.god, I can't believe I actually read that.
@uninspiredcup: have you listened to the audio tapes? You probably didn't.
Trying very desperately to make out it's some piece of developers political propaganda. First taking someone else's argument, then taking a game out of content, now assumptions on your end.
Bioshock 2 has multiple endings up to the player. Including a leftist lamo "forgive" option.
This game is not forced propaganda. By any stretch, nor do I actually give a shit in the first place.
'there could be more women leads in gaming'
is not a political position unless its 1920
Will the evil that is extreme leftest never cease.
'the evil that is extreme'
like what exactly? 'there should be more women leads in gaming' is an 'extreme position'?
I was told its not the position, its the tactic. now you are saying its a position? so what is the counter position?
'that there should not be more female leads in gaming'
that is the ONLY way its a political position. no other way around it.
there MUST be a counter position ON SUBSTANCE in order for it to be a political position
This took a while to cut out. Originally attempted to use scissors, but it became quickly apparent it was squint. I realized the magnetized top, would also magnetize to a fridge, so I lay the paper under it, on top chest high freezer, sandwitched with the magnetized cover, cutting around it with a standey Knife (I believe Americans call them exacto-Knifes). Aside from making the mistake using low resolution blown up, Overall it turned out pretty good for a first try.

nice
but basically the problem the Right has on this and the reason they will continue to fail at it is that they do not understand the difference between a position and a tactic.
and every single time they highlight 'more female leads in video games' as a 'poltical position' they end up shooting themselves in the foot because the IMMEDIATE question that is nearly instinctive and avoidable is 'thus this person is against there being more female leads in games' its a natural, logical assumption to make.
so because they are horrible and communicating what they really think every time they open their mouth they just hand a victory over to the Left.
so thank you
I think the forced "diversity" we see in games today is more pandering than anything else. I enjoy playing as a women/black/asian w/e within the proper context of the game (examples: Bayonetta, GTA SA, Sleeping Dogs). When developers grab an established franchise and change the protagonist to a new sex/race/ethnicity just because SJW demands it... thats what I have a problem with

The fans are the ones who support them. Their games are (or, at least, should) be aimed at their fans not those who dont give two sh*ts about them but think their political views should be forced into everything they can put their anoying voices on

doesnt answer my question. I am not asking you if its just or not.
I am just asking by definition wouldn't that also be 'pandering'?
the answer is yes

Didnt deny it. Its pandering to the right people, not the wrong ones

ok then.
given that, pointing out that its pandering is usless information. because its not pandering that you have a problem with, its WHO its pandering to that you have a problem with.
you didnt think that thru did you? i had to walk you thru it
no wait for it,.,because there is more.

Dude, are you high? What I meant was pretty obvious to anyone with two inches of a forehead. If you want to take everything anyone says in the literal sense then... yeah, I wont even bother. Its pandering still. To the "right people or wrong people" is still pandering so my original statement remains

let me try this again.
it being pandering or not does not blooster your point, its added fluff to your statement that ends up being misleading.
If doing EITHER ACTION is pandering (and I am not saying its not) then stating its pandering is useless and misleading.
Second off, for an SJW to be involved dont you think the subject has to be politcal? So I ask again
how is the position of 'we want more women in video games' political?
now a far as all your extra adjectives on my personality that wastes my time. I read for the meat of what you are saying and scan over the unrelated random attempts an insults.
so two questions:
1. if both sides are pandering then why bring it up in your comment? (and yes I agree both would be pandering but I am asking why state it, they both take shits too but you dont state it)
2. how is the position of 'we want more women in video games' political?
Does a developer want to make a character that is non-white, female, homosexual, trans?
That's cool
Does a developer want to make a character that is a straight white male?
That's fine
Does a developer want to make a character that is fat or not exactly be the image of attractiveness?
okie-dokie then
Does a developer want to make a character that is attractive?
No complaints here (just don't get too stupid or go overboard please)
Developers are free to experiment. But, I think they will go with whatever approach brings in the most moolah.
Games had always been pretty diverse. Particularly since I've played alot of RPGs, many of the famous ones had a slew of representation of both genders and multiple races. Blacks had always been portrayed as cool badasses and most villains were actually almost always whites. Interesting, isnt it? Fighting games also have healthy representation of most races and genders, have always been. Sports games, what is there to say at all...
Its only recently when certain segments try to portray gamers as being this homogenous and oppressive masculine culture that hates women and everyone else which has produced an equally vocal resisting opinion.
Its really laughable that games journalists try to portray the current gen and themselves as heralds of a new diversity age when thats obviously not true. Thats what irk a lot of gamers. Its funny that they try to demonise whites for even daring to make a white male protag these days but are almost absolutely silent about asian games that almost always feature asian leads. Because they know asians dont give a shit about western gender politics and they simply have no clout.
I'm not white, i'm asian.
@AzatiS: I don't know why people freak out about Ellie's girlfriend. They look cute together. I get there's a bit of an uncanny valley thing but neither ladies are ugly. I think people are being a bit unfair.

holy smokes!
the first on substance, non-shooting themselves in the foot response on this subject I have ever read...ever.
nicely done.
naturally filled with claims that are not based on fact but over all rather well done.
at the end of the day, developers own their own code and they can listen to the opinions of others and do what they want with their code.
@ironbrigador: Not sure what Asian games you mean (maybe Chinese or Korean games?), but that's certainly untrue for Japanese games. There are tons of Japanese games with non-Japanese/Asian characters. If anything, Japanese games are generally more diverse than Western games... but at the same time can also be more offensive too.
@AzatiS: Anything that doesn't resemble a goblin.
Well i think that particular character made sense to be Ellies girlfriend and above all she couldnt be more beautiful than main character. There were deep emotions, even if it was a shock for some for being a lesbian scene, coming from that other girl towards Ellie, most probably was older and more mature than Ellie showed some serious affection ( some calling it love ) towards her.
Its not only about looks you freak of freedom. This is The last of us, all 10/10 lesbian girls are dead already, you had to know that from first episode !!
@AzatiS: You make a good point about the cuties being dead already. Probably died trying to take a selfie with the shroom people. I can forgive Ellie in this case.
Diversity is the newest feature in the hit game series Cinematic Walking Simulator. Surely the media will be enamored by their own reflection.

that is true, the irony is what fuels it.
what is fueling it is the opposition to it. Reason is, their arguments are so unbelievable absurd that it draws that kind of 'lets go look at the freak show at the carvenal appeal'
because they make it look like they are actually against female leads, their messaging is horrible
@tryit:
The critics are just raving about how diverse walking in a simulation can really be. One gamer saying, "the graphics were so good, it made me feel like I was diverse!"

The cutscene graphics. None of these movie games are that impressive when someone takes a post-release direct feed with a HUD showing.

that was silly
so many posters just make up crap they dont even have to

As I've already said (and I thought I was clear but I guess not) there is definitely a "good" kind of pandering and "bad" kind of pandering. I'm critical of one, not the other. The pandering towards SJWs demands is not a good thing for the industry in my pov. My original statement was clearly aimed at that kind of pandering. Anything else... is just semantics
2. how is the position of 'we want more women in video games' political?
politicˈpɒlɪtɪk/adjective
adjective: politic
1. (of an action) seeming sensible and judicious in the circumstances.
How is it not political to force some personal ideology into w/e because thats "how it must be"?
If I was a developer, I'd cater to those who buy my games. If my gamer base like diversity and show it by buying my games, I'll continue the trend. If they start avoiding my games because of it? Sorry. I cater to the bottom line because they help me pay the bills.

1. I know there is good and bad kind of pandering, get past that. I got it.
I am saying this
The question is, if the word 'pandering' is not a differenator between the two sides then you using that word HURTS YOUR POSITION
for example, if I am talking about the difference of two people I would not say Joe takes a poop. because BOTH 'takes a poop' so it doesnt make any sense to say that when I am talking about DIFFERENCE
2. in order for something to be political there has to be an opposing view the opposing view to 'there should be more female leads' is NOT 'i dont like the tactic of how you speak your belief' that is a DIFFERERNT subject.
so..as a result, the way you phrase the problem only HELPS people you are against because it sounds like you are against there being female leads and you think its pandering (as in when you highlight the word it implictly means a differenator and yet at the same time you agree that pandering is ok, but you make it SOUND like its not. its stupid
jesus why do I try so hard to help the Right I should just let them continue to **** up

oh give it up.
you know, I know, I know you know and everyone reading it knows....better
next up....LITERALY 100% of all things are now poltical. I wipe my ass, that is political
Being against free speech is a politcal position of which the opposite is 'freedom of speech'
however...the opposition to the statement of 'there should be more female leads' is NOT 'I dont like how you speak your opinion'
but you know what..**** it...keep selling it how you are, it only helps my side...TRADEMDOUSLY
so maybe this is better
'there should be more female leads in video games' is a political statement, with absolutely zero counter position.
try that on of size

both positions is pander but for some reason its worth mentioning pandering.
got it
Please have the characters made by the people in the community though. You really don't want a team full of white people making an Asian or black characters. Though I'm happy that games are getting more diverse.
The problem is its turned into a pandering shitshow. It seems like the devs that never promote how diverse their game is do the best job with it. Ciri from TW3 was one of the coolest female heroes to me. Matter a fact the whole cast was amazing. Freya in GoW was very well done. But this whole thing of making female heroes these unstoppable bad asses with no explanation as they fight evil hordes of incompetent straight white males seems like a leftist power fantasy to me.
@blackhairedhero: "But this whole thing of making female heroes these unstoppable bad asses with no explanation as they fight evil hordes of incompetent straight white males seems like a leftist power fantasy to me."
It's because it's easy to make straight white males look generic just like enemies need to be LMAO

I don't think a lot of gamers played Left behind DLC last-gen. This was already done and show us Ellie falling in love with a girl before. I too was surprise everyone freak out about her kissing another girl when it already happen before. Anyone who was shock about Ellie being lesbian probably never bother to play Left Behind.
