Yes, they are necessary.

Saying 'Do you think HDTVs are necessary?' is like saying 'Is 640x480 [SDTV] necessary when I think 320x240 looks perfectly fine?'

Will about 28% of Americans have a HDTV. Alot of people I talked to have different opinions on it some say that there is no difference your just watching Television and, other will die for a HDTV.

What do you think would you spend $1500.00 on a TV?

KillaHalo2o9

Hmmm... since you're asking this question me thinks you don't have a HDTV yet.

Wait until the price will go down because seriously once you have it... you'll never go back

Nothing is necessary but good health, family, friends, water, food, shelter, the rest just makes life more comfortable. When you pass homeless people in the street with poor hygiene and no shelter it makes you appreciate what you have.

of course not..... not many things are necessary.... Water, Food, Shelter & Sex are the only things that are "necessary", everything else is a want.....

PS. I have a HDTV and love it.

I just bought an HDTV and I have to say that it really doesn't make a great difference to me.

The biggest difference to me was going from analog to digital signals for TV programming.

I said the same thing when i first got mine untill i saw a game in SD again and thought it was last gen

I bought my Sony 32" CRT for $500 off Ebay local pickup over a year ago now...I was in mint condition, its 720p, and the picture is crisp...you can find good deal out there...I use it almost exclusively as a gaming TV since I don't have a HDTV cable reciever but I do have the HD all in wonder ATI card that I can get off air broadcasts in HD...I live close to the broadcast tower and I get a perfect picture, its great during football season
