All multiplayer games die eventually, usually only CoD/Madden last longer than 3 months.
These tacked on multiplayers are the worst thing to happen to games this gen, and thats saying something with motion controls and DLC around.
Honestly I don't feel like this game has tacked on MPAll multiplayer games die eventually, usually only CoD/Madden last longer than 3 months.

Nope, not for a long ass time. Max Payne 3 has a far more fully featured multiplayer mode than both GTAIV and RDR and those two are still very active, especially RDR.AcidSoldnerGTA IV isnt active at all. I never got to play a TDM with 32 people, it was always 2 or 3 in each team at most.

Seen as the crews carry over to GTA V it will definitely be dead then. But listening to people talk about it makes me think it's dead already

Maybe for consoles.

It would suck to be restricted to newer games when it came to multiplayer. I'd probably cry if I couldn't play Starcraft or Counter-Strike online anymore...Xbox version of everything always has alot of players, it's an "online" specialty system.
PC and PS3 version of mp will die out in a couple weeks.

which is why there are still a bunch of full servers for games like deus ex that came out over 10 years ago?Xbox version of everything always has alot of players, it's an "online" specialty system.

...just saying...
As for Max Payne 3, I don't know. I don't have the game, but it sounds like the multiplayer is a pretty decent addition to the game at least and if all these other people are still playing the game via the Xbox, PC, and then some on the PS3 then who knows. Could keep living for a little while.
Its got a great community right now, with the Social Network and crew system, and its damn fun online to boot. The multiplayer reminds me of Uncharted 3 quite a bit, but with a focus on style and diving over climbing and seeking rare gear in Uncharted.
If Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV are any indication, then it will last a while, especially since in return for free roam, it has the best competitive MP Rockstar has made to date.

No,PC is "online" specialty system, with most active games and communities...
Xbox, while having stronger online play than the PS3,still doesn't even come close to PC.Show me a decade old console game still actively played...
Online competitive gaming started on the PC,and obviously, remained the strongest on the PC.It's also the home to MMO,a very popular and online exclusive genre, that for the most part doesn't even exist on consoles...
