No. Gears 2 would have to do a lot of things to get a perfect score that the first one didn't (obviously a more lengthy campaign would help)
And with MGS...GSpot just doesn't care for the series it seems. Which is sad because they all deserve high nines in my book (with the original getting a ten)

No game will get the 10. Im sorry but look at all GTA 4 is filled with for that game to get a 10 and be considered head and shoulders above its competition.
MGS 4 isn't going to be that far ahead of the pack, niether will Gears 2.
I think MGS has a better chance at it then Gears. A few weeks ago almost every major gaming site was invited too preview MGS by Konami. Everyone that wrote about it had nothing but praise for Metal Gear.
Gears we don't know enough about it yet to say, but so far it looks good, but that's about it. Kind've like Killzone 2.
the thing is gta 4 has made a evolutionary jump in sandbox video games. rockstars philopsy obviosuly worked. the lead chracter is the city. the reason gta4 is getting the succes it's getting is cause of the depth and innovation. wheres mgs 4 looks awesome but nonethless not as revolutinary as GTA4.

It's supposed to be a sneaking game? You think it's going to be like a basketball game? or a tekken game?
As much as i love pacman,you gotta use some sneaking skills too, so you won't get caught by the lil evil dudes.
I don't feel like any FPS will ever get a perfect score ever again. (I know its a bold statement but the same could be said about racing games)

Although this game has the possibility of being a 10 i strongly doubt it for two reasons. One, just like racing games and FPS, stealth 3PS are quickly becoming all to common. Two, the whirlwind from the PS3 and opposing console owners would be nothing short of forum chaos. (more-so then it is now) :P
As for the current "10" game GTAIV witch is why I believe this thread was started..... I'll hold my tongue till i get it tomorrow ^^b

I dont care what score MGS IV will get, its a must own game (already pre-ordered it last month hehe)... However of the 2 listed in the topic, both being great games I think MGSIV has the edge due to its story, something GeOW lacks...
I don't think either will get a 10 on Gamespot , because R* paid them to give GTA4 a 10 and GS doesn't want to lose all credibility (not that they have any) by giving more games a 10. The last game that got a 10 was like Tony Hawk 3 I think.
Anyways, I could care less for Gamespot reviews. They aren't really that good (too short) and are very contradicting and they get paid on top of that to score games a certain way.
no game is worth a ten its funny how they give games that score then say this is bad or that is...
9.5 should have been the score really a review is well just that and i dont really put to much into them if it scored low everywhere else would gamespot have gave it a ten also?
probably not dont get me wrong a the game is great but all these tens are just not real.
if you are talking about other sites, then yes. there is a possibility of MGS 4 getting 10, but not here on GS. they gave MGS 1 8.5, seriously how can you give MGS 1 8.5 and they also gave MGS 3 8.7
there is no way MGS 4 can get a 9.5 on GS, maybe a 9.0. in all honesty, I would not be surprised if GS gives it an 8.5
I think MGS4 has a slim chance but i think it'll get marked down for some strange or even stupid reason and geow2 can't because it would have to bring something incredible to the table this time around for it to even get a 9.5 i see it getting a 9.0 but not a 10.
Spore and SC2 and LBP are all other possible contenders
I don't think any game will get a 10 for years to come.... and that's including StarCraft 2 (still don't understand why people think it must get a 10).
