Do you think MS released the 360 too early? (poll)

I did: "This is 100% real. I know so because this just happened to my xbox last night. I bought the Slim on August 7th. Ive worked for most of the week so i didnt play much but when i did i noticed how hot one area of the console was getting. It was almost too hot to touch so i knew everything wasn't working as intended. Last nite i finally sat down and played RDR for about 2 hours and then it happened."

You're pointing to individual cases to infer a systemic problem with the current 360 hardware. PS3s die too, you know, and you could posts hundreds of individual posts from people with YLOD, or a BluRay drive that stopped reading games (that one just happened to a friend of mine, sadly). Wiis die, PCs die, every piece of electronics has a failure rate attached. Showing individual examples of 360 hardware issues doesn't show that the 360's failure rate is still near where it was with earlier models.

But you would find it to be true.

Does the PS3 slim have problems? Of course. But the XBOX 360 slim is far from reliable. Maybe a little more than this.

Nah they're beating Sony monthly in the sales department and are constantly getting superior Multiplats. Plus Software is still selling better on the 360 then anything on the ps3.Sp4rtan_3

PS3 sold more software last year despite a smaller install base...

We were talking about software sales... as in games. How does a redesign explain games sold?

I'm just listing examples. Overheating isn't the focal point, just an instance. There plenty of problems with the new model. Granted the YLOD on the PS3 slim is a bit more common, but I can admit it. This is just a laundry list of problems that MS has not worked out inover five years. But you don't have to listen to common sense or facts. Just say "no", and you're fine. Sony fanboys will deny the YLOD, no biggie. Gotta love the fanboys.

BTW, I have moved my PS3 slim while in motion.. no problems at all, kept on playing. You could do the same thing with a PC. It's called quality testing.. something MS didn't do.

No. It's direct competitor Sony really didn't bring anything extra to the table, so it wasn't like Microsoft was missing anything. And at that time they were probably laughing at Nintendo about the motion controls.

I think they wholly benefited from releasing early and would be in a worse predicament had they waited to release at the same time as Sony and Nintendo.

actually it's the other way around, if you're going to claim something you need to prove it from a reliable source, this is called the burden of proof and it's debating 101

your options are terrible I think most people would agree it was rushed because of RROD but a $600 blue ray system isn't the answer either.

yep...i remember seeing a photoshopped Gears 2 boxart on a PS3 case. apparently, this poster believes if its on the internet it must me an indisputable fact.

hardware wise it came back to haunt them by launching so early sales wise it was the right thing to doohthemanatee

yea because all the crap 360s that had to be replaced and all the ppl who got the 360 slim 2 get all the upgrades the ps3 already had from launch is why it benifited M$ sales wise because ppl are willing to put up with a company sticking it to them...the new slim is nice and im gettin one but i feel sorry for ppl who stuck with 360 from launch
