also ground textures of the 2009 l4d2 and the udk using the march 2010 unreal engine.

l4d2:

march 2010 unreal engine

now lets take a look at modded hl2 again:

its not a matter of optimization or anything it is just that the consoles do not have the memory to use this detail in their textures all around. this mod requires 3gb of ram to run without crashing.

I love the CM Mod's Ive been using then since they were called Fakefactory's & Ogg's CM Mod, right now consoles cant even match a Pc with a 512mb video card and 2gb of ram. but by the time the new set of consoles come out they will have at least 4gb of usable memory.

LOL no it wont becaue by 2012 both will easily be able to max all the assets . Your on DX11 coming up if we go all the way to 2012 will be on about DX12 they will simply have feature and technology that are not availble right now . Regardless the term (MUCH BETTER) is going to get smaller and smaller as time goes on. They had a interiview with the lead designer of Crytek (Cevat Yeril did i spell that right?) He said the next consoles will basically be equivlent to high end CGI.

With mods Crysis will easily compete with early next-gen games. Also, like I said before, a 2012 PC with modded and tod tweaked Crysis 2 will trounce a 2012 console running the same game. Now if consoles release in 2015 that won't be the case.

No... Crysis is a game that has been specifically designed to be future proof... To this day, any moderately priced hardware still wont max it out in every sense.

Games next gen will probably reach the gig of ram standard but I doubt that would be even close to enough for a game like Crysis. Remember though that the first game was spectacularly wide open as opposed to Crysis 2 (at least from what I have seen of it).

YOu also need to remember that consoles are made for gaming. Therefor developers can maximize the console for their game easier than on pc. Every console is the same. AND even it they make a game multiplat its only 2-3 different codes to worry with instead of a hundred different ways to run the game with PC..

Just my thought on it.

That screenshot looks awful, God of War 3 uses MLAA, which hides over 90% jaggies(but not 100%). And I have played and beaten the game too.

GOW3 virtually has no jaggies it uses a blur effect they said is equivelent to about 4xMSAA . And you blew the pic up larger then it was meant to be shown thats why it looks crappy, you basically took a compressed pic and stretched it.

LMAO what? Next gen consoles will have far more then 1 gig of ram. Look at the history. The Xbox had 64 mb of Ram the 360 now has 512 thats a increase of 8x. If we go by that standard the next consoles will have at least 4 gigs of ram and it will be far faster ram then what is available today , not to mention video cards with features and functions that simply are not available today. Crysis now will look pretty low end compared to what you see the next gen , denying that is basically saying that technology will stand still for the next 3 years.

he didnt blow it up larger than it was meant. on the pic you yourself posted right click and click open in new tab, then click to view the full sized pic, the pictures actual size looks like what he posted.

Only if they put beefy GPU's in the consoles. Can you imagine the visuals on the PS3 with the Cell and a GPU along the line of a GTX295 or even a GTX480?

If you're in Firefox try 'Save Image As' or 'Copy Image' and then open/paste it into a image editor and tell me the resolution. You really think GOW3 runs in 1509x849?
