Do you think some websites might get pressured to give Halo a good score?

I think it's possible that they might feel pressured, though more in terms of advertising dollars and hits.

However, to be clear, I don't think this is just Halo 3 or an MS thing. I think this actually happens with a fair number of games which are released on many platforms. Call my a cynic if you'd like.

For sure. Or actually I beleive that a few reviewers might just jump on the hype wagon. :D

Here is what I think. Zelda got bashed for being the same ol thing. As a bad note. So Halo 3 better get that same BAD note in its score. Because Halo 3 is closer to Halo 2 then Zelda Twillight was to its previous.

Think about it. There are alot alot of lemmings on this board. If gamespot gives it an 8.5 (besides the riots, the hate threads' and babies) some crazy fanboys might now want to come to gamespot anymore. Or they will say " GAmESpt Sux!!!!!111!!one!eleven". Now im not saying gamespot is the only website. and im not saying that lemming will do this. Im just saying that the guy (or girl ) that reviews halo on gamespot will have a lot on their shoulders because if they make it flop i dont think too many lemmings will come to them for reviews.

halo will be out and i look foward to playing it at my friends house. allll that weekend. till our eyes bleed :shock:

Try this conspiracy on for size:

When Microsoft releases Halo 3 to Gamespot for review, in the locked and secure box the game ships in, they also include a large check to Gamespot. This large check is money earmarked to Gamespot so Microsoft can place an advertisement hyping the release of Halo 3 on Gamespots website. This money will help pay for the web site and the salaries of Gamespot employees.

Smaller developers and publishers can't provide these large checks for advertisement dollars because they don't have a monopoly to subsidise their products. Therefore there is no marketing check, and hence no money to pay Gamespot salaries.

if freaking ZELDA! one of the oldest and greatest franchises, can get an 8.8 or whatever it was, you think they will be afraid to give Halo 3 lower than a 9. come on people, wake up and stop the insanity, PLEASE!
