PC Gaming isn't where it used to be... but I don't think it's dying. Pirating definitely hurts the PC gaming industry, since it's much easier to steal PC games than it is for console games. Not to mention, people generally aren't fans of upgrading PCs, even though it may be cheaper in the long run as opposed to buying a new console.ParkCarsHere
When we switch to just Downloading games, Piracy should slow down alot, but i really dont see the effects of Piracy(only the developers do).
If people took time to learn how to install a new video card, they would be way more satisfied then any of the consoles. There cheaper and perform a generation or two above them.
PC gaming is stupid. I wouldn't wanna spend $9999 just to play Crysis on medium settings.
I hope it dies. Because it's just stupid. Stupid stupid stupid!!!

? I payed 750 for mine, and it plays it at max settings (only mid-level resolution, though).
PC gaming is about as dead as me-it'll be around for a long time to come unless something disastrous, like nuclear winter, comes around...
See, you guys always say that. But, I'm pretty sure the 8800 GT in my PC is as installed as it's going to get, and yet I'm far more satisfied with my consoles. If people took time to learn how to install a new video card, they would be way more satisfied then any of the consoles. Not only is PC gaming *not* dead, but the opposite is true: PCs will eventually kill off the console. With more and more services going PC/internet based in the future (IPTV, digital distribution etc.), coupled with advances in technology and the "gameplay vs. graphics" statement made by the success of the Wii, it's almost a foregone conclusion that sooner or later the console will be replaced by the PC.PBSnipes
What the hell are you talking about? You make it seem like the PC gaming market crawled out of the dumpster in a console controlled market. If anything they were the forebearers of all consoles and as such has given up ground to the consoles. If they were on top of their game they would not be fighting for their market share.
In any case I think we have reached the point of convergence for both PCs and consoles. The machines are flexible, capable of more than just "gaming" and further developments will continue this trend.

He's being sarcastic.
Considering the sheer amount of evidence to the contrary; it takes a special type of fanboy to insist the platform is dead.
PC is not a console, it isn't owned by any company that will take the platform with them when they go bankrupt. Even if the mainstream gaming market went into another crash; the consoles would die but PC is used for a variety of none gaming purposes, it will always be there should any indie or bedroom developer wish to produce something.
Its not dead as such, but its not the king that it once was. PC piracy and the overall cost of developing games these days means that for games comapnys to make decent profit, they are having to turn multiplat. So PC is now at the mearcy of the console market.
High selling console games sell more unit that high selling PC games (overall) and although PC is still more profitable (no console royalites issues) games devs would be foolish to miss out on that console market.
"They" say that consoles will now be shaping the future of gaming - however PC will still get the benefit of the best version of these game.
Still what does it matter - no platform is really dead - or going to be in the foreseeable future

That more likely because you like the games better on the console, but i can't say anything about that since its your choice.

Oh, that's definitely one reason. However, you phrased it as an absolute: "If people took time to learn how to install a new video card, they would be way more satisfied then any of the consoles." That's simply not the case, and yet I see it stated over and over around here.[QUOTE="blackace"]I put, " I don't care." Obviously PC gaming isn't dead, but for me I rarely play many PC games, So it's not a big deal for me. Kez1984
That's why every post I'v seen you make related to the downfall of pc gaming.
That made no sense.
I stand by my statement.

I was talking about performace wise, but as for everthing else thats up to you. I dislike the people who say MGS4 is the best looking game ever and havent even seem Cysis yet, for consoles graphics, yes MGS4 look amazing.

Made sense to me, you either play the "I dont care" card, or post negatives about PC gaming, never has it been positive, if it has, its very rare.
This why pc will never die

Yes, because we make as many threads, argue as much, or pretty much do anything on these boards as much as the console fanboys.actually, yes.

your sig automatically disqualifies you from even a shred of objectivity. apparently, you've never encountered a Painballz or Spybot thread. as far as poster annoyance threads are concerned, i'd probably give it cows/lemmings, closely followed by hermits, followed by sheep.
