Wii is the first Nintendo Console that has been weaker than the competition, spec wise. NES> anything on the market at the time SNES> Genisis N64, about even with PSX GCN> PS2, if not by much Nintendo handhelds have never been that graficly intense, they were usualy beaten out spec wise with battery guzzling beasts like the game gearAre you kidding me? Has Nintendo ever had better graphics than anybody? The last time this happened, Nintendo peaked with Donkey Kong Country. In Nineteen Ninety-Four.

Born after the N64 were we? bless :). Also the GC competed with the xbox, it had better textures but the xbox won (the PS2 was well behind).

The thread should have ended here. Ignoring the blocky sausage fingers, that could easily be mistaken for 360 footage at a glance.
Me?
I think they may have similar graphics, it would be really impressive if it had better graphics than the PSP 3000
Or maybe I'm just a DS fanboy.
But since Sony is working on a new handheld it will most likely surpass the 3DS' Graphics.
Knowing Nintendo, the 3DS might defeat the next-gen PSP because gaming isn't just about the graphics.
i never understood why DS is always no. in sales ..... the piracy rate is as high as the PSP as far as i know, but dev. keep supporting it although it's weaker and there are alot of limitations in the hardware .... the touch screen is the only advantage i can see. Some games do look much better (like MGS), but others, most of the other games look clearly inferior. Even Kid Icarus doens't look that good graphically, just a bit better than the DS.

Yeah, pre-rendered footage makes great proof. That's real time. :|
http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/22/3ds-resident-evil-revelations-revealed-in-trailer
"Capcom announced that Resident Evil: Revelations, the 3DS survival horror game, uses the same MT Framework engine that powers console games like Lost Planet 2 and Resident Evil 5. According to Capcom, the engine delivers stereoscopic visuals and "graphical quality comparable to consoles."
You can judge for yourself in the trailer below. Of course, since it isn't stereoscopic, and there is as of yet no way of knowing whether these scenes are in-engine or pre-rendered, it's not exactly the most accurate representation of the 3DS's capabilities. It is, though, still a trailer for a new Resident Evil game, and as such it's loaded with entertainingly overacted dialogue."

Yeah, pre-rendered footage makes great proof.the handheld has programmable shaders, thats instant win for us so far. this means games shall look better than what you see on the wii. Rahnyc43DS doesn't have programmable pixel shaders, only programmable vertex shaders.

Yeah, pre-rendered footage makes great proof. Not Pre-Rendered, Capcom confirmed it. Awesome isnt it?
It's pretty obvious the Ridge Racer game is basically a slightly enhanced psp port.I think it might be the same, so try check out Ridge Racer 3ds and psp plz.

It doesn't have to look like MGS4, if it has 2 screens one of which widescreen one touchscreen. Analogue stick. Motion sensing.
Optional 3D without glasses.
That's all i need to know.
DS rules. 3DS has no reason not to rule.
It is a DS, but more awesome.
From what I seen so far of the 3DS it looks to be a lot more powerful than the PS2. I'm guessing the 3DS is a maybe more powerful than the PS2.
the wii doesn't look better than xbox 1, so...The PSP is 5 years older than the 3DS.
If the 3DS doesnt have better graphics then thats quite embarrassing on Nintendos part.

Cant belive some people still think the psp might still overpower the 3ds in graphics. Okay here is the psp best looking game vs the a 3ds game in its early stage.
Coolyfett
As a PSP owner and support this makes me happy...this proves they look the same.
Yeah.......uh sure. In fact imo the psp version looks better...........yeah.:|
That's kind of funnny especially considering Kojjima thinks MGS3DS will look better than MGS3

I think the 3DS screens look slightly better, but why would this make you happy?
I don't get it. Give people w x360/ps3 game and they see differences.
Give them that 3DS/PSP pic and they don't.
From the screens, textures look sharper, it has the foliage, better color/shadow and You have an actuall cliff (or is that because of different setting?), it runs in 3D and uses two screens.
Pretty much this.I don't get it. Give people w x360/ps3 game and they see differences.

Graphically I think the Master System had a slight edge. Though it was released more than two years after the Famicom.
The 3DS has already exceededthe best ofPSP, and these games are unfinished launch games. The PSP is more in line with the Dreamcast, while 3DS games look to be Wii level or better. So no, I don't think the 3DS wiill have better graphics than the PSP:Iam already assured it is a good step ahead of it. That said, I'm sure PSP2 will have near-360 graphics.
Nintendo CHOOSED...LOL I Stopped reading here to post this....to have worst graphics, it's not worst because Nintendo failed or something. They WANT to have bad graphics, alright?
And it payed off. Nintendo wanted bad graphics, and they won thanks to that. There is like nothing more to say here.
Graphics are not a selling point anymore, the hardware is adjusted for the price, not the other way around (lol Sony!)
