Okay, heres a lesson in Game Development 101 for you guys who are telling me the GC and the Classic controller are saying 'hello'. Here's how it works, you cannot make a game using peripherals or accesories as the main form of control in the title unless it comes standard with the console. STANDARD. Those two controllerss do not. And saying that they can be purchased or are readily available doesn't matter. In this case, if we look at the standard controller, the button layout does not match what the game needs.Shensolidus

Here's a lesson in Street Fighter release history for you:

Street Fighter released for the Genesis/Megadrive - its STANDARD controller was completely inadequate to play the game, using 'select' as a toggle between punch/kick type attacks because it only had three buttons. The only way to play the game properly was to buy a non-standard accessory controller with six buttons.

The classic controller is a completely viable option and has a higher profile than the genesis six-button controller ever did. Control is not nearly as much of a problem as you are making out.

I don't know why people are saying wii couldn't handle it graphicaly. SF4 looks like an xbox game.

If SF4 is supposed to be for these high end consoles like the PS3/360, then the PS3 and 360 are a lot weaker than I thought.

Seriously, the only thing a wii version would be missing is a litte reselution since it's not HD. That's it.

And the controls could be done on the wiimote/nunchuck to keep light users happy while offering the wavebird or classic controller for high end users.

Wow.

Are you joking?

Sir I am totally familiar with SF history and I realize the history of it on the genesis. Yet do you realize in videogame history has evolved to the point that NON-standardized controllers are not made as the MAIN controller option for games anymore unless it comes packaged with the title. This stand-alone accessories required for games have been abolished in games because it doesn't work. Just look at the rest of the genesis' history.

You do also realize that one of the SNES' big boosts was the fact that SF2 on it was available using a controller built for it right out of the box? Some gaming historians have indicated that this game alone was one of the things that gave SNES one of its initial boosts over the competition.

Some of you may retort using SSBB and its method of using the GC or classic controller in it. I assure you, those are extras and that game is made with full compatability with the Wii-mote

Don't have too. NGB looks better than SF4.

And so does MP3.

I'm surprised no one has brought up Mortal Kombat for the Wii. It wasn't perfect, but they did a pretty good job of incorporating Wii motion controls into a regular fighting game. Additionally they allowed for traditional MK controls with the use of a classic controller or GC controller for those who didn't want to mess with the motion controls. It was all very simple really, so as far as gameplay goes, it wouldn't be an issue. SF 2.5 (it's not SF 4 so stop calling it that) could be played on the Wii.

The real question is graphics. Wii couldn't emulate those graphics. Granted they are uglier than sin (who the hell decided on that art style?) so downgrading them wouldn't be a tremendous loss so long as the frame rate stays intact.

are you series? Did you know the original rouge squadron (a gc launch) game has more polygons than halo 2.

SF4 looks like crap.

The graphics dont look all that impressive for it, Wii could definatly handle it. They can just give you the Gamecube/Classical/Wiimote control options, the controls would probably be mapped to the wiimote on its side, not very well though

I won't disagree that the game looks ugly, but that's due to the art direction. I have played Rogue Squadron and Mario Galaxy and I'm quite confident that SF 2.5 looks better than both of them. There's a lot of very fine detail in those screenshots.

Imm sorry, but it doesnt.

Anyways streetfighter isnt pushing ANY benchmarks, it looks like a "last gen game", several last gen games are doing more technical things on the screen.
