I think so. When the Wii U launches it will have the best console multiplatform games that are released for it. If a multiplat is released for the Wii U there's a really high chance that it will be the best console version overall. What do you think of that system wars?

I think it will look exactly like the PS3/360 versions.

Well if all the Ubisoft leaked rumors are true, a 1.5 times more powerful GPU and 1.5GB RAM you'd think it will.

The added functionality from the Wii U Game Pad will be interesing nonetheless.

But this thread is going to filled with negative comments and people judging the console far too early. I feel like I should show screens of how bad multiplat ports looked for PS3/360 early on and why that means we can't judge so early but that won't stop anyone.

Maybe performance wise but the controller looks clumsy.

Especially if they add "look down at your controller" prompts, that would get annoying fast.

For online Xbox will still kick WiiU's ass.

Before E3 I believed it would EASILY have the best multiplats. Maybe not quite max settings, but I figured it would at least have the settings of a good lower-middle range PC. (whereas the PS3/360 are getting to the point where integrated graphics solutions and cellphones can almost beat them).

Unfortunately what has been shown barely looks at the same level as PS3/360 and there are rumors of some issues where (in certain cases) they might even be running worse right now (i.e. Assassin's Creed framerate, Batman Arkham City).. I would think that if any of these ports actually turn out worse, or even pixel perfect matches, it is due to "growing pains" learning to develop on the Wii-U. But it is a sign the Wii-U does not have the processing power to really take multiplats up a substantial level,. Brute force on a next gen console should have blown away any "growing pains" if trying to directly compare to the lowly and outdated PS3/360. It really should not even be a question we have to ask.

They are still having problems running engines effectively on the Wii U that have been running on Xbox for almost a decade.

Not a chance. PS4 Already has next gen sealed in the bag with great games like MGS5, the next FF, Ridge Racer, VF6, Resistance 3, KillZone 4, Lair 2, Heavenly Sword 2, the next Demon Souls, God of War 4 etc. Mark my words, Wii U will be a total flop, and so will the next Xbox.

Anything Nintendo that actually has some hype being a flop is laughably cute at best.

The same games with some tweaks and added features, as well as the addition of the menu and map systems being easily accessible on the controller will make them the best multiplats in my book, but I'm not making any official calls until I've actually gotten my hands on the WiiU.

They might be slightly better than the PS3/360, but there's little incentive for developers to maximize multiplats on the system.

This. Think studios really want to spend time bettering the WiiU game? Hell no, already wasting time trying to incorporate that touchscreen... As you can tell, I'm not sold on the controller.

Any multiplat that forces me to use the tablet controller rather than just normal controllers is not better.

I doubt most of the multiplats will... Its not like the motion controls, devs dont HAVE to based the game around the gamepad... they can just add a HUD display or a Mini-map to the screen and call it a day! Theres also the Wii-U controller pro.

That's why the Wii-U is no doubt an improvement over the Wii. Unlike the wii... the Wii-U has basic controls for their games and it's not that inaccurate sensor gimmick that was the Wii.

This because I don't developers will spend the extra time/money on making the Wii U version better. The PS3 is more powerful than 360 but multiplatform games run bad on PS3 because their badly ports.

I would laugh if third party devs ignored the Wii U like they did the Wii and just the PS3, 360, and PC get the games.

No. Developers aren't going to make great use of the controller, claiming it's too difficult. Then by 2 years time, the new consoles will already be here and there will be a noticeable gap between the Wii U and the other two, making it less likely that multiplats on the Wii U will be the superior version.

I'm not sure how the Wii U is going to do in 2 years time. Nintendo made it the way it is for a reason.

Not at all. Wii U will proly serve the same purpose my Wii does for me, to provide me with lovely 1st party games.
