Phones have 24/7 connections to the internet? Hurray for battery life.[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"]
[QUOTE="tdkmillsy"]You guys make me laugh Your all drama queens, You probably posted a post on here on your Apple or Google phone You probably use Facebook, Yahoo and Youtube Your phones have a 24/7 connection to the internet and yet your worried about a console you can unplug from power and network when not in use. Stop making it out like its always going to be watching you. They have already told you can turn it all off in settings. Really come on stop with the over the top hypocritical Microsoft bashing. You really think Sony isn't involved in something similar. You just don't know about it yet.BeardMaster

Im confused are you saying they arent?
Unless I am misunderstanding, I turn off mobile data and wifi all the time on my Galaxy S2. Are you saying it's still connected when I turn said features off?[QUOTE="BeardMaster"][QUOTE="Hexagon_777"]Phones have 24/7 connections to the internet? Hurray for battery life.

He's trying to be a smart arse. Not trying, mate, not one bit. Utilise some common sense, please.Unless I am misunderstanding, I turn off mobile data and wifi all the time on my Galaxy S2. Are you saying it's still connected when I turn said features off?Hexagon_777Well sort of. Even when your phone is in Airplane mode, if you have the battery in it and it is turned on you can be tracked via GPS.

If your phone can still recieve calls/text messages then its still connected and capable of data transfer. Its not like there is a separate network or hardware your phone uses to for access to the internet, its really no different than disabling the web browser on your PC. It will limit you from using the browser but doesnt change the fact that your PC is still connected to the internet.

I rarely turn on my GPS as I barely use it, but if the only method to not be monitored is to take out the battery, then hot damn.Well sort of. Even when your phone is in Airplane mode, if you have the battery in it and it is turned on you can be tracked via GPS.[QUOTE="HadOne2Many"]

Not sure exactly how it works since it is all part of the Patriot Act and the methods aren't public, but basically if the US Government wants to find and monitor you they don't need a Kinect to do it.I rarely turn on my GPS as I barely use it, but if the only method to not be monitored is to take out the battery, then hot damn. It is one of the presumed reasons why you cannot easily remove the battery in iPhones.[QUOTE="HadOne2Many"]Well sort of. the fact that they sell it with the console is ok, but why on earth would the require it to be connected all the time? it just doesn't make any sense. smells fishy.
That sounds familiar.M$ is going to use Kinect 2.0 to FEED ADS to you.

At least voting public can protest from home and government can't miss it.PRISM is a joint surveillance program between the US government some of the biggest tech corporations. Microsoft is the first and the founding member of the program
Kinect 2.0 is smart camera that can monitor your every move, your every behaviour down to your heart beat. It harnesses your habitual information for whatever purpose they can use later

I rarely turn on my GPS as I barely use it, but if the only method to not be monitored is to take out the battery, then hot damn. The fact is you have a mobile phone which uses an operating system supplied by a company that is just as much involved in PRISM as Microsoft. You will turn the wifi on when you need to use it in a wifi area, you will most likely have your data connection on a lot (most people I know don't turn it off) or at least some of the time. You trust when you turn these things off its not going to track anything. You can turn off Kinect so it cant do anything in the same way you can turn off these features in your phone. Don't know if you can take the battery out of an S2 and if you could its kind of step to far cos then you couldn't use it. But you can unplug the Xbox One from power and network when not in use. They want it connect because its an integral part of the experience and developers will know its connect, but still give you the option to turn it off. I really don't see the difference and for this reason it sounds hypocritical.[QUOTE="clr84651"]Why? I've had lots of dealings with Microsoft (in education sector) and found them very friendly and trustworthy.MS is a very untrustworthy company.Â

participating in Prism made them even more trustworthy. no, wait...
