MS has stated that they will own console gaming in a 3 generation cycle. One way or another, they will dominate and buy out whatever they need to win.

But you right, we will all be out of gaming by then, itll be our younger generations that will play their games.

MS cant own console gaming in a 3 generation cycle, sorry to burst your bubble Ghost, lol.

next gen I firmly blelieve that MS will at least beat sony.

Itll be Nintendo ruling the casual market and MS ruling the hardcore, the way the world is meant to be.......

MS will attempt to expand into the casual audience obviously. They're already pushing it hard this generation.

lol Great, the way the world is supposed to be. 4 year console life, then no support. Microtransactions galore, choke hold on 1st party accessories and over priced add ons... with faulty hardware to boot. You're right, the way the world is meant to be.

Let's just watch Sony and MS fight neck and neck this gen before we make predictions for the next huh?

also MS will prob make the next xbox reliable, they cant afford to make the same mistake twice. Next gen the world will be perfect........

i know, they deserve more credit for that. but the average consumer will still view the 360 as a primarily hardcore console.

Dude how many excuses do you want to make for Microsoft? The original Xbox was simply a test run?? Right.

Yeah, sure, MS will probably make the next Xbox reliable, hopefully - but that still doesnt make up for nickle and diming for everything... picture packs, themes, even Live in general!

Sony is beating MS in Japan... and Europe... despite a year head start by MS. Only reason MS is "beating" Sony this gen is that year head start.

I cant beleive you'd be so naive to say next gen the world will be "perfect" because MS "will beat Sony" (in your opinion). Geesh the least bit you could do is think with some rationality and realise that competition is good for the industry.

By winning, I meant. Final, winning. As in Nintendo and Sony dropping out.thrones

If thats what you mean then no. I do not want to see major companies drop out, any of them. They support good compition for the industry. However, if winning was to mean having good sales and being a good major competitor, then yes.

no because other than XBL microsoft just brought nothing special. So while im ok with them existing Id prefer Sony to win again. However if i could choose one to just die for betrayal to true gamers it would be Nintendo. they turned their backs on their real fans since the NES era, but the wii is junk to gain just market share.

If MS won, they would make gaming way too expensive. They started the $59 MSRP for games this gen, they've already started the milking for every add-on or extra, and they are the only ones trying to make it the industry standard to play with your friends or family online. Add-in the short life cycles, lack of in-house game development and I don't see how MS winning is good in anyway for gamers.

The consumers choose to be on microsoft because we get more new tittles for our money, Not just ganes that was passed down from on system down to the new one. Look at mass effect uh what a great game. What does sony has to offer to make me buy one of the console. nothing no hardcore gamers there.

Although I think the Wii will win sales-wise in the end, I would like the 360 to win. Great games, great console...at least IMO.

Ah, more anti MS misinformation from EmperorSupreme, what a surprise.

First off, MS did not start the $59 game trend. If you'll remember correctly (obviously you don't) MS's first party games around the 360's launch were $49, just like last generation. Third parties were the ones who started the $59 thing. Second, last generation, which console was the one with all of the add ons, from the useless, (stands and the like) to the necesary for full enjoyment of the console and to make it comparable to the competition such as the multitap, network adapter and memory card necessary to save games. But of course, Sony gets a free pass on that right?

The only reason the Xbox was killed early was for two reasons. The console was not financially viable and Nvidia officially stopped production on the Xbox's GPU in August of 2005. MS didn't have a choice in the matter.
