I think it would be pretty positive for the industry. WHen Sony dominated the industry with the PS1 PS2 everyone loved console gaming and they didn't abuse consumers.
M$ even with competition manages to nickle and dime and create unhealthy abusive practices like Live fee's and DLC and kinect etc.
Plus they don't make games...

M$ made progress? So I wouldn't want M$ to be banned cause they are making money off morons that get tricked with marketing into buying kinect? That's a plus for you morons? And competition is good when there is competition in the right places. M$ isn't making Sony make any more games, if anything the only thing it's making Sony do is keep it's eye open for casual motion gaming. Think before you post. Competition alone isn't enough it has to be good competition in the right places, not making money off DLC or kinect. That doesn't help, that makes things worse. And Sony has shown us enough times even without any major competition it knows how to handle gaming with fair prices and non abusive practices. Truth is M$ is completely expendable. Sony on the other hand would be a devasting loss for the industry cause they not only make amazing games, they support core and casual gaming and still push risky new IP's that are unlikely to get a profit on. They are way more about gaming. M$ is all about money.

So if I buy a game I enjoy that's crap in your eyes and play it on my 360 then it's Microsoft's fault that I bought and played it? Because just because a lot of people buy CoD and ME on 360 does not mean that PS3 and PC owners don't also buy and play them. Additionally, Kinect is an accessory not required to play the majority of games for the console same as Move.

The recent news that talks between Microsoft and Motorola have fallen through, and that the console might actually be banned, seem to have so many cows on this forum gleeful.
Does anyone actually want the 360 to be banned? I can understand trolling it on this forum for the fun of it, but how can any decent gamer actually want this? You have to be f*cked up to wish for this to happen.

It's not going to be banned. Even if the judge say so, it will be appealed and there will be no ban. Motorola and Microsoft will work something out. Both companies are suing each other so some kind of compromise will have to happen.

This is an interesting piece of news. It wouldn't affect me either way. I'll just get what other games and systems come out. If MS is at fault, then they need to pay for their actions. Oh hell no! The PS3 and 360 are what they are today only because of competition. Cows should keep in mind they wouldn't have a PSN, or a boat load of 1st party titles if it weren't for the 360.

Microsoft is bad for the industry, it would be best if they bowed out. That being said the ban will never occur, courts view bans of this caliber as punishment to users more so than the infractor.
I don't really care, nor would anyone who has already finished buying consoles this gen, unless your day is spent defending the 360 on the interwebs. But it'd be pretty funny. Anyhow, if a ban gets put in place, a settlement won't be far behind.

I don't think so. If the XBox 360 wasn't on the market, Sony and Nintendo would push so hard to make quality 1st party games since neither company sees each other as a threat in the market. With Microsoft nabbing a large portion of market shares from Sony this gen has caused them to rethink their strategy for the remainer of the PS3 life and into the PS4. Competition is good for business. Microsoft isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
No. Like the Sony financial situation, which I have said I hope and believe in Sony to turn it around. I love games. And I love having options in where and how I game. So no, I want them to do what needs to be done to set it right.
