Does anyone dispute PS3 wins 2009 hands down?

You know... I used to think Cows weren't particularly bright. They rallied behind Sony despite numerous marketing gaffs and outright idiotic decisions regarding their hardware. A weak library, premium cost system, the sixaxis, the PSP Christmas viral campaign, the loss of numerous exclusives, the difficulty in coding for the mighty Cell, the war cry has always been, "Just Wait". I used to think Cows weren't particularly bright, but when the Slim came out, I decided to give it a try. I loved Infamous & MGS4, and I've spent an embarrassing amount of time on Little Big Planet. (Heavenly Sword was okay.) I'm playing Drake's Uncharted 1 right now, and I'm very much looking forward to the sequel. And God of War III is among my top anticipated games.

I used to think Cows weren't particularly bright... and that hasn't really changed. Supporting Sony as if it were a sports team or a religious organization is particularly confusing to me. It's as if you've applied a sense of nationalism to your game system. You cite a handful of 2009 titles and declare them to be the greatest, with no real valid argument supporting this as 4 out of 6 of your examples have yet to be released. You vaguely allude to "reviews" from unnamed sites, and declare their opinions to be fact. This troubles me. How do I know if I agree with their reviews if I don't know who they are? Further, you have to qualify your entry of GT5 with "a lot of stores have it listed" within 2009.

This entire argument seems exceedingly weak for a "No Contest" declaration. I'm glad you're enjoying your PS3. I'm enjoying mine quite a bit as well. But you're not dating it. You don't have to defend it's honor or explain to your parents why you settled for the ugly girl.PS3 has come a long way to answering the issues I used to have with it. Cows... not so much.

PC wins every year, even with the lack of AAAE titles. That's some tough standards for ya.

So you just admitted that you failed at answering his question. He asked for 5 games. You're response should have been, "Crysis, maybe Killzone 2, and thats it. There aren't any other games that look as good as Uncharted 2."

No. I would only believe the PS3 would win for the year if it was the most sold console worldwide, and most of the sold games of the year were on PS3.

The Xbox 360 and Wii has larger install bases.

So far this year the PS3 has 2 exclusives that have scored A or above. That's right, a grand total of 2. The PS3 hasn't owned anything this year.

Uncharted 2, high AAA so far, probably GOTY on many sites.

Demons Souls, high AAA on most reviews so far.

GT5 probably releasing December 4th as a lot of stores have it listed for that date.

Killzone 2, best graphics on any console ever.

Infamous, AAA game.

All 2009 games, all PS3 exclusives. 360 has nothing to compete with this, Halo ODST is not AAA, it's averaging 85% on metacritic, not bad for a $60 expansion that's onlygot$30 worth of new content,Forza 3 is nice but is it really any different than Forza 2?. And Wii has New Super Mario Bros, probably average to good with a few players. Nintendo are real lazy this gen with Wii. And PC, does it have anything this year?, don't know as PC gamers are still talking about Crysis two years later.

It's funny you say inFAMOUS is an AAA game and then you say Halo 3: ODST is not AAA because it's averaging 85 on MetaCritic. Guess what, inFAMOUS also has an average of 85 on MetaCritic. What a coincidence, LOL! Uncharted 2 only has 4 reviews so far, one from a PS3 magazine that gave a 10/10. It already has an 8/10 review, as well.

The 360 has Halo 3: ODST, Left 4 Dead 2, Forza Motorsport 3, GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony, GTA: Episodes From Liberty City, and Shadow Complex to compete with.

So far the Wiiis winning by far. It has like 10 AA titles, and lot of A titles I believe. The PS3 has 2 AAA, the 360 i believe has 1 AAA, and 4 As.

That could change by the end of the year. The PS3 may end up getting 3 or 4 more AAAs. Even then we would have to count the to see who would win. I think no one would really know who will win. The Wii is most likely going to get a crap load more AA titles, and may possibly get no AAA titles. Something like 15 or 20 AAs vs 6 AAA titles is hard to argue which one is better. In the end, it will probably just be up to the person.

surely Ps3 had a better 2009 compared to 360..

360 has Forza3 & Halo:ODST + multiplats, but PS3 will have U2, Demon Soulsand Ratchet & Clank along multiplats..

Also during the year 360 offered Halo wars while PS3 did release KZ2 & inFamous..

Finally there is still a small chance of seeing GT5 release this year..

PS3 wins this gen if you ask me, not just 2009. It really depends on person though.

For AAAEs sure, but I wouldn't say "hands down" since not all them are out yet and overall exclusives go to PC(or maybe Wii not sure).
