[QUOTE="fireballonfire"]Pure technically Crysis 2 will be a much more advanced game than KZ3. The CE3 engine will make it possible to implement all the latest features.
For starters some of you mentioned physics. KZ3 is all about scripted / pre-animated physics nothing but the very simple physics is calculated real time.
As for C2, not even the first Crysis has procedural destruction which is something I look forward to experiment with.
What sonys first party developers are good at and what they might succeed in doing better than Crytek is to cover up the technical shortcomings of their engine with excellent camera work, stage design and an immersive atmosphere with a lot going on to keep you busy.

There's a major difference in creating the toolset and licensing the engine for third parties to simply max out what a single console can do. The former will try to utilize as much techs in the book as possible so that developers can have more choices for different games, while the latter would concentrate on an already established franchise so that all their effects would benefit that franchise the most. Cryengine 3 is a checklist of effects but lacks a strong prominent area, kz3 engine may not be as complete feature wise but it's more focused and more comprehensive in certain features. Let's say Crysis 2 is a good all rounder in graphics but kz3 beats it in particle, more dynamic lights, scale and more shadow casting lights. But in the end it's all about what's on the screen and clearly at this stage kz3 looks more impressive. I will do a comparison soon with the Be the Weapon trailer. So Crysis 2 is only a "good all rounder"? As in everything being mediocre?
When C2 finally gets released and the true potential of the CE3 is on display, I'll bet you gonna regret saying that.
My bet is that the CE3 engine is the most advanced engine ever, not mediocre. You want unmatched particles, dynamic lights and shadows it'll come to you in a few months time, be patient.
