Does anyone else buy MF2 for the story?

I'm just wondering if anyone else bought Modern Warfare 2 for it's continuing story mode. I have a couple of friends who spent 60 bucks minimum(don't get me started on prestige edition) and they will never touch anyththing but the online. Personally I think it's not a good idea to spend that much money just for multiplayer, so I want your opinions.

I just wanted to get it for the story, so instead of wasting $60, I just watched the whole thing on Youtube. :3
