[QUOTE="icygangsta"][QUOTE="racing1750"]I play games that interest me. Game like 50 Cent: Blood on the sand was fun from my view, but from critic's it was a 7/10 at best. Not saying a score doesn't come into my decision to buy a game, but I go by what looks fun or vaguely interesting to me.racing1750
Blood on the sand was freakin' fun! I expected crap after Bulletproof TBH. How you finding GT5 so far, by the way?

Yeh, it was just pure fun. All I could ask for. And on GT5, Well it's my favourite GT game now. The SP is huge! only level 15.

Sweet. I should be picking it up next month, hopefully. I got Def Jam Rapstar this month instead.. LOL

It's about fun from day one.

Why are there so many multiplayer shooters with bad communities? Fun!

Games should only be played in order to beat everyone else, and then to brag at how you're better than everyone else and that you own the best games. Fun is stupid.

It feels like the only reason people here buy games is because it looks amazing or it got a 9 or a 10. Games that get 8.5 are considered garbage to you guys? Does anyone have fun anymore?

metalguitar13

i do, im playing gt5 for fun couldnt care bout anything else cause im loving it to death and thats that xD.nobody could ever sway me tbh.

Oh yes. I have a few games that are 7.0-8.0 and I consider them to better than the 9s & 10s that are argued over. Video games arem eant to be that- fun wastes of time.

No. I play Crysis modded and Metro 2033 to show the graphical might of the PC over everything else and spend thousands of dollars every month to do so. Graphics >everything else.

Course we do. I have all the platforms (except iPhone. Those games aren't fun.) I buy/rent games that interest me, not the critics. That's why I even get games that score around 5s, like Nier.

Most GS scores are full of BS anyway. Scott Pilgrim and Sonic 4 deserved higher score than a 6. >_>

I though Call of Duty is fun, and Crysis does have some pretty neat gameplay mechanics (Nanosuit powers for one thing). Mass Effect 2, is a far superior game to the first one except for the Planet Scanning, but Super Mario Galaxy 2 by far is the GOTY for me simply for its unadulterated fun and innovative use of Yoshi's abilities.

I know it's hard to detect sarcasm on the internet but that one was pretty straight-forward. I don't even know what I could spend thousands of dollars on for a PC every month.

Considering most of the games I've bought and enjoyed this gen have been rated between 7.0 and 8.5 on Gamespot... then, yes, I do play games for fun.

Almost everybody on System Wars has to act like a cool gangsta, or a witty comedian 24/7, but being serious for a moment I see what the tc is talking about. So much b. s. is spread on this forum about one-upping other posters, bragging about scores, features, and most of all, graphics, graphics, and more graphics and teh technology, like that's ALL that matters.

Rarely does the discussion on this board revolve around pure fun and true gaming at the fundamental level. I'm sure the non-regulars that come here get disillusioned by the tough guy demeanor, and the never-be-serious and never show what I'm really feeling too-cool-for-school guys.

Hell, even I get sick of those constant types of behaviors here sometimes. I think it's time to take a good long break from System Wars and GameSpot when the hyped games finally get reviewed around here and the chaos settles down. Come on GameSpot I'm talking about GT5 and Epic Mickey, let's get some reviews going how 'bouts?

well...I would but my Wii won't read discs now and my PS3's Mother Board burned up.

Now I only play on the 360 and DS because those are the only systems I can play on. lol

I play for fun, but also for a good challenge.

Good gfx and exclusivity don't influence what games I play, they just influence what games I argue about.:P

i'm up for any game over an 8.0 as a day one purchase and any game over a 7.0 after a price drop. Graphics matter to a degree but gameplay can counter poor graphics easily.

For example, i'm playing the AWESOME Goldeneye 007 for the WII, the graphics are horrendous dude, but the gameplay is oh so good.

When it comes to playing games for fun, it's actually a bit better without SW though. SWs is like adding needless politcs to it, once that's gone it's just that little bit better, sorry it's hard to explain. It's a bit like going from being an audiophile to just being a music fan. Ya know, stop analysing and just enjoy.

I've finally given up SWs more or less and just came back because of the GT5 release to see what people said.

But i'd recommend anyone new to SWs leave while they still can :P. It is a giant waste of time if you get sucked in and when I came back after a few months I realised absolutely nothing had changed, the same old nonsense.

Absolutely, most of the best games this gen imo have scored under a 9.0.

I'm pretty sure everyone in this forum plays games for fun and owns plenty of AA and A games, it's just we argue like morons for fun here. I don't know why this is such a hard concept to believe.

Example, I played part of the first act of Metal Gear Solid 4, got bored, and then for fun criticized the storytelling on here. Everyone passed time arguing and stuff... then I picked it up again and loved every last bit of the game. Doesn't mean I still wouldn't make petty complaints to argue for fun. I've criticized games I love for the most petty things here all in the spirit of good fun. I like to think everyone else is doing something similar.

Errrr I dunno that seemed like pretty blatant sarcasm, especially considering the second paragraph opens with the contradictory statement "course we do," removing any doubt that the first was pure sarcasm.

Oh the irony, the PS3 and Wii broke, and the only system that didn't break is the 360, the one that breaks the most :P.
