When its explained to you... That's like those people who say Metal Gear Solid is fine, because "Metal Gear" is the enemy and you're "Solid" Snake. Doesn't matter if you can relate the title to the game in some way, it still sounds dumb.

Here's an idea, why don't they call it Metroid: Origins? Or Metroid: Evolution?
How about Metroid: Electric Boogaloo? Metroid: Metroid Harder?
Or how about just a number? Metoird 4/5/6/7/whichever number it technically is in the timeline? Seriosuly, the name is at least something different, and it does peak my interest, unlike some generic sequel title.
Sorry TC, I agree with Treal that MOM is cool! But I think we can all agree that Machinarium is extra, super-duper cool 8). I was commenting on how he has Machinarium in his sig. One of the greatest games of this gen. But the name is also a really good one. I know you love Machinarium :D. I was just saying that I disagreed with you on the idea that Metroid Other M was a bad name (in-effect, agreeing with Treal). Though you seem to have warmed up to MOM lol. We all agree that Machinarium is amazing though. One of my fav. games of last year... still haven't beaten it yet.
I don't like the name either but we must see why the reason of the name before we start posting that it is stupid or something like that. Perhaps it has a meaning.
eh? maybe. i always thought resident evil was a dumb name, and that's probably my favorite series of all time. personally, i'm glad they shuffled to a different perspective for this one.

Metroid Other M. Seriously. Other M. That is just the dumbest video game title for a game ever. It doesn't look right whenever you write it and it doesn't sound right whenever you say it.
And the acyonym... MOM. MOM.

I can't tell if you are being serious or not... you do realize that there are huge maternal overtones to the game right? The Acronym for mom was either a huge coincidence (unlikely) or largely intended (very likely). Not to mention, who said the M meant metroid... Perhaps it means Mother? :o unfathomable!
