No it doesnt. Max settings is what the PS3+360 version is running at. The PC can support higher res but it doesnt make it look MUCH BETTER.

I got a laugh out of this.
Recall how much console gamers go on about this being the "HD gaming generation", because resolutions above 1280x720 apparently didn't exist before the current console gen...
Then comes a game at a significantly higher resolution than the console version; and what do they say? Res doesn't matter then, not when it is a PC doing it in other words.
As for max settings = console version, that isn't always the case. Putting aside all the quality filters, there is usually variances between games because of hardware differences. It can be extra image clarity such as with Bioshock compared to 360, or extra draw distances such as in Oblivion.
