Does GTA IV deserves 10? Or 98 metascore?

I don't think so.

I know there are tons of Rockstar fans here but I am sorry, I don't think GTA IV deserves scores that high.

I think it's a good game but not a masterpiece, not OoT.

The only game so far that I think deserves what it got is OoT.

I think GTA franchise is somehow overrated as well. Let's face it, westerners prefer violence nowadays, the reviewers even praise violence.

Hell, there is an emblem for violence in gamespot review.

Rockstar is lucky as Blizzard,ND or somebody else like Bioware or Valve don't make games in that genre, if not, they are probably in a great challenge now.

I think it does for the time it was released. But with RDR out now(which is a 10 in my book), I'd say a 9.0

No, it doesn't. This is coming from someone who didn't even really hype GTA4. It was at most 8.5.

I consider Rockstar very talented at what they do. I really doubt ND, Valve, or Bungie can make a sandbox game on the same level as RS considering the games they make aren't anything like SB games. ND did a SB thing with J&D, but in the end the game wasn't known for being a SB game.

GTA IV was no...IS the biggest let down of the Generation.

I had really high hopes for it but they stripped the series WAY down.

I only gave the game a 7.0 though, since I'm not a huge GTA fan.

Nope. Most overrated game ever. Plus it has horrible framerate issues and its controls are wonky.

People have given some of the best games ever made a 1.0 in the user review so I don't really take any reviews too seriously even if they are "professional". GTA IV was a pretty good game imo, I enjoyed the fact it was less arcadey and the relationships with the npc's but as far as open world games go Oblivion destroys it.

What makes the SW people qualified to judge how much a game should be rated on Metacritic? The critics, people who are getting payed to give scores, and who's opinion holds much more weight than yours have spoken, GTA IV is one of the best games this generation, if not the best. This is how I feel as well.

NOTE: Go ahead and disagree with the metascore or GS 10. I couldn't care less. Fact is, the ratings are what they are. There is no over or under, just what is. To argue otherwise is nothing more then an inflated ego butthurt over opinions.

I'd give GTA 4 a solid 9.5 at release. A 9.0 by itself today and a a 10 overall if you include the Episodes. GTA4 improved EVERYTHING. The controls in SA are ASS. The story is INANE. The map is to big, with filler missions and BS diversions like eating and exercising.

GTA used to be a kids cartoon. Now it's a crime drama. ;)

It would have been criminal for GTA IV to get anything but a 10.

a 90/9.0 would be hard to justify alone for this game, let a lone a 10

No is the living proof that this industry play more hype than games,it was a good game but a 10 no way and this come from some one who finish GTA SA like 3 times.

Funny. I thought Majora's Mask was a far greater "masterpiece" than Ocarina of Time. And many other games far more deserving of a 10.

GTAIV on the other hand; while well-made, is no more than a 7.5 game to me. There was a lot of content, just none of it interesting.
