I don't see how him being confident in his ability to makes games is a bad thing. As long as he continues to make some of the best games on the market, I don't care what he says.

Look at Itagaki. He is the most arrogant **** on the planet, yet he made Ninja Gaiden. As long as Ninja Gaiden 2 is brilliant (which it probably will be) I don't care if he runs his mouth.

It's nice to be humble, but I would rather have a great developer with an ego, then a humble one who makes bad games.

His vision could've been forfilled on the PC, so yeah, he has the right to be disappointed. Everyone makes mistakes and overestimating the PS3 for his baby MGS4 was his mistake. But I don't blame him because he wasn't the only one who fell for the false hype on how powerful the PS3 was suppose to be, it was false advertisement.

ReverseCycology

Ehm, the PS3 is a powerfull system. But of course the best PC's will be better. Hey, it comes new once all the time!

But I doubt he would be able to do it on the PC either...

He wanted to take 10 steps from MGS3, he took 1! Look how good MGS4 is, and that was 1 step. No system will be able to make MGS4 as Kojima wanted it in a few years : (

He is a perfectionist. He is never satisfied enough with his work.

Gameplay over Artistic visuals over Sound/Music composer over Graphical effects such as textures and shiny lightning.

Thats how his priority list should look like.

I would enjoy MGS4 even if he created the game for the PS2. Just like Wii owners have their priority on gameplay.

I don't understand why he gives feedback on his own game. Why not after the game is released? I'm kinda surprised by it.

And it is, Hideo said that most of the gameplay elements he wanted was in. However it's mainly graphical power and scale of battle that he couldn't fit in

If he is restricted by the technical capibilities of the system, then he could spend his attention more to the other aspects of the game. Like sound/music. Extra cool features and ideas, innovation. etc etc.

I don't have a PS3 myself yet. But I think the the gameplay trailers looked really good. And the cut scenes with Vampire Versus Raiden. The fighting scenes look really awesome.

So lets say the PS3 had even more powerfull hardware. He would need to maximize the graphical potential for the game. Wich cost even more money to do. I personally much rather he spend his budget to the other aspects of the game. But I'm a minority it seems.

Do you hear Miyamoto giving criticism on his games because of the graphical limitations of the Wii? Nope.

Kojima has a thing where he likes to immerse the player totally in the story which involves a lot of flashy graphics and incredible sound tech.

He could have fulfilled his vision on the PC easily. Like many gamers out there, they fell for sony PR ie 4d, 120fps, 1080p day 1, Blu-ray writer.

in reality, sony failed us. The cell was half done, HD wasn't fully their. and yes 720p and 1080i is lame or rather half done.

what strikes me is how kojima, a very respected dev" fell for it.
