The way they are building the media services, and limited international release give me the impression they are going US or bust.
Howeverm that poorly underestimates the international eneteranment market.
Hollywood does not focus a majority on the mainland for a reason anymore.
Its all about the international, and this is were I see Microsoft shooting themselves in the foot most.
Its no longer, get the US, get the world, its get the world to get the US.

I honestly don't understand the logic behind this. If your competitor is doing a worldwide launch you're essentially giving them entire regions of the world. Sony is going to completely control the market in several notable countries.Â
Worse yet, a pre E3 interview of Sony revealed the true negative of the always online/check in system.
In developing nations internet is unstable. Sony has and will continue to market products to poorer regions of South America, Africa, and Asia as part of their global effort.
The south american market as I recall was the reason for the PS2s continues sales for so long.
The reason they stated no intrest in online DRM policies was its alienation of these markets. This is were Microsoft's online DRM is going to trully bite them in the @$$. The US it may hurt sales some, but internationally it puts up a wall.
A commenter on GT put it pretty well. In most places you can buy an HDTV if you save up ,but you can't save up for better internet if it doesn't exist.
