My honest opinion is that the Xbox One will have a strong launch and maintain some momentum going into next year. Â It's not the bad press that is going to kill the Xbox One so much as the people who are only buying it based on the fact that is is the next Xbox are going to start having some negative experiences with it.
Â
Once the feedback on the machine starts to become negative, it will slow down. Â I also think the PS4 will have better traction going into next year because the hardcore gamer has crowned it champion. Â So, I predict that come E3 '14, we will see the second coming of Playstation in full swing. Â For now, the dust just hasn't settled from all of this.

Both consoles will sell out of pre-orders eventually ,but I feel like this is going to be the real blow to microsoft. Once people who buy the console are faced with the DRM restrictions and the negative feedback starts things will go from bad to worse. If you have a PS4 you can lend games to your friends without any restrictions. Thats going to be a very noticable difference between the two consoles when people start playing on both of them.
Exactly! On top of that, unlike the 360 that kind of had some "hipster cred" when it came out (You know, owning a PS3 near launch was "uncool" because the 360 was the new shiny toy), the Xbox One is bound to get jeered anytime you bust it out when you have friends over and whatnot. It's going to put people out when gamers with families get asked by friends questions like "How do you feel about your kids playing on that thing? The camera is always on." or the inevitable jeer by a buddy "Hey man, that thing is going to be useless if the internet goes out, did you know that?" It's not just an uncool product amongst a lot of gamers, it is downright hated. With the 360, you probably had no problem talking all your friends into getting one to play CoD online with and all of that, but the One is not enjoying any "street cred" at all. It's almost in the exact same position, if not worse, than the PS3 was at launch where it was selling on little more than brand loyalty and BluRay. Now that anyone (who would buy a $500 console near launch) has a BluRay player already, it doesn't even have that going for it. ..And it has no backwards compatibility, so there's 0 impetus to get the thing to continue building your Xbox-centric game library. The negatives are just far too strong. All it would take is a retailer like Gamestop to start informing potential XBone buyers about its pitfalls and the mess will just spread. They are not in a position to grow their market at that entry pricepoint, so they can't even hedge their bets on the TV TV TV SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS crowd they covet so much.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxkEe_l7S3gSome mainstream news sources started reporting that the Xbox One was against the military after some people started making a fuss about how it wouldn't work for them. That's one thing you don't do in America. For most people it doesn't matter what you think of the government so long as you don't specifically insult/act against the troops in any kind of way. In this situation it would be MS designing their system in a way that military personnel couldn't use it. While I don't think it's a big deal myself that's the one thing you don't do in America. If a mainstream news source is reporting that your product is anti-military you're pretty much ****ed.

As you can see, Don Mattrick was both mocking and showing a blatant disregard for military personel. Noone was just making this up.
Exactly, no one is gonna buy cheap shit. Look at the Wii U. X1 wins by default. First, BOTH companies are offering cloud support for their consoles. What do you think Gakai is? Â The difference is that SONY is upfront with what their initial use for it will be where as you XBot chuckle heads are sold on this idea that the Xbone will first compute x amount of data, shoot it out to the server where it well get a steriod treatment then send the data back to you as God's gift to gaming. The fact that you even believe such nonsense speaks volumes about your naivete and sheer stupidity. Why waste time with a "half and half" approach when the entire principle of the cloud is to run the game server side? You're just regurgitating the stupidity that MS has fed you, showing your brainwash and compliance with their unneccessary demand for internet "check ins", even when you're only playing single player games.Â[QUOTE="mems_1224"][QUOTE="emgesp"] You really think The Cloud is going to push Xbox One units? Yeah, I think most customers look at price first before anything else. Benny_Blakk

I agree with this pretty much exactly. To specifically answer this question, I'm unsure in the long run, but launch year its going to lose NA unless Sony simply runs out of stock.
People may not care about DRM as much as we think(though the effects of the shoutings of those that do care should not be underestimated), but the real reason I see it losing NA is price.
Their is a huge gap, and when parents go to buy a console they will go for the cheaper unit.
People say core gamers are not important, but core gamers are the ones that would pay 500$ for a system,
but they don't give a rat's @$$ about kninect besides its added cost.
Will it still sell though, if you have not seen X Amazon thread, yes it will sale decently at launch, but the odds of a majority are slim unless Microsoft makes severa radical changes(subscription plan, drop fored kinect bundle, slashing of price, ect ect)
dercoo
If they can fix the xbox one messaging they may be able to take NA.Â

LOL keep dreaming sheep. Sony is your daddy.
M'soft has pretty much conceded defeat in all regions other than 'Merica. So if they loose in North America as well it will be an absolute disaster. The Xbox One is essentially 'Merica's game box according to Microsoft. I could give two craps, already have my ps4 pre ordered
I imagine it being a clean sweep for Sony. Â Internationally, the PS4 will CRUSH the X1. Â Domestically, the X1 has a lot of loyalists and is marketing a far different product than Sony to a wider array of consumers. Â I think that latter portion is more of a problem than an advantage though and they're going to feel the sting at retail.

Hey guys, check out Amazon's top sellers page. Â WOW!!!

The PS4 bundles have invaded the list
and the last of useven loosingEND jump out :lol:System Wars will be really boring unless MS pull their finger out of their arses, and sort the One out.
I can't imagine 10 years of SW with only 3 Lemmings.
-Snooze-
Probably not. Americans are smart enough to realize the power of the cloud. Foreigners are easily confused so its understandable why they'd go PS4. mems_1224:lol: I would like to say mems is the best troll out there, but he is level 56, and trolls usually dont make it that far. He might seriously just work for Microsoft's advertising division lol.
if Amazon is any indication, MS will lose NA market too check out those PS4 bundles http://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-video-games/zgbs/videogames/ref=pd_dp_ts_vg_1?tag=viglink129408-20#1-Damien-

look at Dat last of usTBH I foresee the X1 and PS4 being neck and neck most of next gen. Â Will one eventually pull ahead? Â Probably.
Plenty of people are brand loyal (whether they admit it or not) and tend to stick with what they are familiar with. Â From what I've seen here in NA that's the 360 by a 3:1 ratio. Â This is only judging from my own firsthand experience.

microsoft still has their fanboys, i do think they are going to lose alot of marketshare though, people are already selling in their 360's and games since nothing is coming out for the system where as sony i'm sure is moving ps3 units with the last of usÂ

lems, think SW is the real world and also think GS is the only site on the internet...it kill them that this game is getting those scores and held by reviewers and gamers as one of/or the best of this gen and also selling incredibly well too .....suck it lems :lol:They'll do fine. They have the games. A lot of the complaints I see are coming from people who will buy a X1 anyways. I was talking to some people at work who are very mildly into gaming and they didn't even know there were PS4 announcements happening last week but they did know the X1 had something going on. I told them the PS4 was $100 less but they said, "well the Xbox comes with that camera thing so it makes sense." They responded to the internet issue in the same way I think almost everyone in the real world will: "oh, well I have the internet."Senor_KamiThe "real world" argument again
Well Xbox One uses cloud, in the future cloud will be an infinite resource of hardware and allow for games to be run on hardware not in ur home but streamed to ur television via broadband high speed internet connection.
So basically like Gaiki, which PS4 has already.Well Xbox One uses cloud, in the future cloud will be an infinite resource of hardware and allow for games to be run on hardware not in ur home but streamed to ur television via broadband high speed internet connection.
