Well, Gamers don't read these articles, they just care to play.

It's interesting take on the whole thing, but ultimately it's Sony fault for allowing things like this to take place, unless they don't care.

there is alot of assumption on these boards that MS stole or paid big bucks to land these sequels, sometimes that true, other times its just developers realizing that the 360 is easy to work with and profitable to release a game on. usually its just good business sense and not some evil plan by ms.

These were never "Sony's franchises". Sony just were on the brink of monopolizing the video game market last generation, and thus received the most 3rd party dev support. Now Sony isn't the top dog, so reality is kicking in.

It's nothing they can do.

If MS is paying for games to go multiplat. Do you really believe that Sony has the money to compete with what MS might keep offering.

Then Sony having the lowest consumer base is hurting their chances to have exlusives without the need to pay for it.

Sony is going the correct way and focusing on 1st and 2nd party titles.

i'll agree, it shows they are trying hard to establish themselves, this is only their 2nd generation in the video game industry and they are hitting sony in the balls.

No. It just show that they are being aggressive competitors. I think the only people who credibility should be questioned is someone who thinks that it's a bad thing. You see these people are overlooking something that should be pretty damn obvious....

Microsoft has customers to please. They also want more customers, so getting the games on their system that people identify with what was previously the world leader in videogames (consoles) should be seen as a smart BUSINESS decision.

And it is.

NONE of these games ever "belonged" to Sony in the first place, so they were never "stolen". Their exclusivity in the past has no bearing on the present either, and while that past exclusivity may create some illusion of "ownership", percpeption doesn't equal reality.

And people crying and whining about 360 aquiring PS3 franchises have very short memories (or haven't been gaming for more than 8 years) as Final Fantasy and Metal Gear were originally on the Nintendo platform.

Wow...How can they steal something that wasn't even sealed to be theirs?

Sony was the top dog last gen. Things have changed. If they want to blame anyone, blame Sony, not Microsoft.

I just do not see how getting more quality games on their system is going to hurt their credibility, lol. Now, I love my PS3, but I personally feel that Sony is not trying hard enough to keep exclusives....and that is their fault. Just being honest.

Just like Nintendo before them. But Nintendo deserved it more than Sony IMO. :( I am kinda angry though that they put video games as a secondary concern and just used the PS3 to test their technology. They're such a big company but they couldn't just hire a PC developer to try to make a game based on the Cell? :| Cheap bastards. Other processor companies do it!

Don't forget that Square didn't start with Sony, they started with Nintendo and left because they didn't treat them well enough. And that is what happened with FFXIII going to the 360. In fact, I bet if they weren't already so far in development they would had also canned the PS3 version altogether. :P Don't you just love Japanese's modern sense of honor and loyalty? It's sooo strong compared to the samurai era. In fantasy: Magical forces around the earth award for taking beatings and fighting back nicely. In reality: IF you don't play as dirty and as tough and don't adapt to the times, you die out. I feel in a bloging mood but I have nothing bloging about and no one to read it. :( Going go before I get modded for being off topic.

it is kinda pathetic when u think about, MS has the money to think of better and more original games, they just seem to pay for others. thats not to say they can't think of great games, its just they need to do more of it and not praise a game to get it to come to 360 (mgs4 cough)

just makes them desperate.

anyways, 360 has the best games..thats what counts.

I think MS looks far better. They are making sure their fanbase has a great selection of games to play.

The most big named fighters

the most wrpgs

the most jrpgs

the only console with RTS games

a large selection of casual games

Getting content no other console is able to get on big name games such Fallout and GTA

And with all this the 360 still has the

Highest rated FPS

Highest rated TPS

Highest rated racer

Cows just mad that their console messiah is not living up to their dreams. MS has is not pulling any punches this gen and making sure their fanbase has a great selection of games. I say power to them.

Well, maybe if it DID steal them.

Since MS isn't stealing anything, no, no it dose not.

The Devs see more profit in developing for the Xbox too, so they do it. MS just encourage them. Until we see some proof that MS is paying them all off.

I'm sure when Sony started doing these things with previously committed Nintendo "third party" developers in the late 90's, credibility was there major concern o_O. Really now.. it's all fair game and I can only see it as a benefit from a business perspective, even Nintendo did the same with the Resident Evil franchise for a short period of time.

While you are correct, games like Tekken, Star Ocean, and Final Fantasy have been considered flagship titles for Sony. Microsoft definitely stole them, and I commend them for that. Microsoft made the most accessible system for developers--and they deserve "Sony's" games.

For all we know, Microsoft could've had nothing to do with it. For all we know, Square-Enix and Namco-Bandai could've come to Microsoft and asked if they could make their games on the Xbox 360. There's no concrete proof that shows that Microsoft went to them, slid them a blank check and pulled the rug right out from under Sony.

True enough, these are longtime staples of the Playstation brand (well, except Final Fantasy and Star Ocean. Those began with Nintendo) but to say MS "stole" them, you would also have to show that these developers made some sort of deal with Sony to keep the games exclusive or loan them the IPs. As another poster already said, unless we start seeing titles like Gran Turismo or God of War on the 360 (IPs that Sony actually own), MS will not have stolen anything.

I didn't mean Microsoft literally stole them; I simply meant that by developing the more accessible system for developers/having a bigger fanbase, Microsoft stole the games. This is a good thing, no doubt.

I would say only about 1% of gamers or people in general even care about anything "political" in the gaming world. Its not important to those who just play games.

And IF MS buys something its not stealing...Same goes with Sony or NIN...

That's weird...I don't see Sony's name on any of the IPs that MS "stole." All I see is MS taking a gigantic pan(Tekken, FF, etc.) and wacking it right on top of Sony's head waking them up from Sonyland.

and whats weird about that? people think this is cool and buys another one!!!!!! you have to get tired of system that cost you more than a penny to break down like that..... when mines broke im glad i had my ps3..... matter of fact i buy most games for my ps3 now. i keep my 360 for the exclusives, you people say the 360 version is this and that..... but the 360 is junk, and im scared its gonna break again.

No, Naughty Dog is entirely owned by SONY. They are 1st party. When Naughty Dog makes a game, it's made by Sony. They got bought out years ago.

looks more like a blogpost than anything else to me

either way, Sony isn't top dog anymore. They have good competition now so it's kinda obvious that 3rd party publishers (money hungry as they are) are jumping the sony ship and start releasing games on the 360 (or both PS3/360).
