I say no.  I course i don't like PS3, but I think Oblivion really counts as 360 AAA game, and just got re-released for PS3.  Since it's already been a AAA for another system for a year now, Cows shouldn't really be able to brag "We have the highest rated game of the year thus far"

Yes it does. The only thing it doesn't count as is an exclusive AAA. It still doesn't justify a ps3 purchase for me.

Yes it does count as a PS3 AAA title. Oh, and what is your definition of AAA anyways? Do you only base your decisions off of what GS gives a certain game?

Well the fact that it's a port or whatever you want to call it and it still got a AAA rating should count for something shouldn't it?

Yes it counts as a AAA title, but...

Do I think it deserves it?

No, of course I don't think it's deserves AAA on any system...

If it counts as an AAA game for the 360 and the PC it should for the PS3 and this is coming from somebody who dislikes the PS3.

Okay, so what's a bigger accomplishment, Wario Ware, or Oblivion for PS3 (as far as system "accomplishments" go)

Probably Warioware because a bunch of minigames don't score AAA here.

Congratulations, Sony, you BOUGHT a guaranteed AAA. How exciting. Too bad no one's going to buy the game because anyone who wanted so would have already played it on 360.

Selective memory. It also came out for PC.

Also, poor damage control.

it depends, if you have played it already then no it dosent count as an AAA game, and a LOT of ppl already did on their pc's and xbox's but for those radical ps3 fans that think its a sin to play games on any other kind of machine that doesn't have a blue ray and hd support, yes it is a AAA title. jokes apart , if you played it before no, if you didn't then you should check it out.

but personaly id say no it dosent count, since you have the same game on other systems they nullify each-other since its the exact same game on another platafor, dont get me wrong i just happen to belive that what makes a console worth buyng its what exclusives they offer, it dosent matter to me that the ps3 has a killer graphic if i can play the same game on a PC or a xbox for much less. sony really need to get back on their feet before its to late. but i think they are starting to get things on the right track with Home. all they need to do now is keep FF franshise as an exclusive or else, il have to start thinking about getting a xbox instead of a ps3

Oh dear...

This is just outstanding. Of course it is an AAA title and yes, the PS3 does have the best game released thus far this year if we're using GS scores.

Yes and no. It scored higher than any Wii games out there so that is ownage but it isn't an exclusive AAA so it isn't. So it's a Yes and no imo.

Of course it counts!!! Its AAA for 360, its AAA for PC, and why isn't it AAA for PS3?  Those who think not are just arrogant, how on earth could it not be? It is a AAA rating, does it matter if its a multiplatform?  If you guys think so then games like RE4 or Burnout are not AAAs as well?

The System Wars Rule, for purposes of official scoring and what we base success and floppage on, is that only Gamespot scores count.

In any case, 9.5 = Oblivion IS AAA and that can't be debated.

the point is that now that oblivion is out for the ps3 it dosen't count for both of them since they both have it , hence one cant grab about it to the other. all this "sheep, cow, lemming" think is really childish , when it didnt matter who had the better console, sega or nintendo and everyone seemed to get alone, i just wonder what happend on the game market that led us to this mess.

THe arguement is time, PC and 360 have had it for a year. You could argue that if PS3 had been out when Oblivion came out last march, Bethesda would have made it for PS3 as well.  But PS3 wasn't out, and whos fault is that?

Yes it counts as a AAA title, but...

Do I think it deserves it?

No, of course I don't think it's deserves AAA on any system...

AdobeArtist

Why don't you think it deserves AAA?

The game to me is fundamentally flawed, and while at first it may seem huge I think it ends up killing the scope it seems to have with it's own flaws.

Bethesda did an outstanding job doing what Morrowind(or the remainder of TES) just couldn't, and thats be playable. This is a huge leap for the series, b/c traditionally it hasn't exactly been the friendliest of series to jump into.

However, with this large leap in progress came a falter in basics. Dynamic leveling is just an overly flawed concept for an RPG IMHO.

  • Why level up? You don't need to at all, for instance I've created a character that was a guild master for everything at level 1, and I even plowed through the arena within the first few hours of the game at level 1 as well. This shouldn't be possible, I shouldn't be some master of all things at level 1.
  • Why explore? At first, yeah it's cool. But honestly why should I explore? I'm never going to trip across something that I shouldn't be able to handle since it's leveled to me, and in turn I'll never really discover much worth looking for since these things are also leveled to me. Dynamic leveling in this instance kills the concept of going into a dungeon, for example, and finding that enemy that is impossible to be at your current level, but you're sneak is just high enough to get that really nice dagger before you should be able to.
  • Losing the sense of accomplishment? This ones more difficult to explain, but I'll attempt none the less. If I face character A in the beginning of the game, I don't expect to return later after I've power leveled and find that they're right with me. There's no sense of "ha look how easy this poor chump is now" (kind of the opposite of the last bullet really).

Now I'm not saying dynamic leveling doesn't have it's place, but it should be used sparingly imho. Only certain types or very specific enemies should level with the main character. There needs to be a balance between dynamic leveling and static for enemies and equipment.

Realize I'm not saying it sucks, prolly give it in the 8.0-8.9 range some where.

I'm about as much of a sheep as it gets, but have lemmings really resorted to saying that AAA's don't count as AAA's? Even if it is a multiplat, AAA is AAA. Of course, cows can't claim ownage or anything on it because it scored better on the 360 and is a year old.

Guess what. The 360 version is a re-released port of the PC version, they just came out at the same time. So by this logic, it's not a 360 AAA either.

Standards of the PC platform are higher than that of the 360 or PS3 upon the point that Oblivion was released.

its on the ps3 and its AAA, so yes its a ps3 AAA game. and to be fair, its also a 360 and pc AAA. i dont see how you could spin it any other way.
