Spore only requires a basic graphics card. It is not as if it is inaccessible to most console owners.

Don't ati/nvidia make console GPUs? Why would thier stock drop, plus ATI/Nvidia pretty much have the money to dev games to push graphics.

The point with Nancy Drew is that it is hard to make a pc/console exclusive comparison when many of the pc exclusives are really designed for a pc demographic. PS3/360 comparisons make more sense.
Anyways project offset is multiplat and doesn't have a release date. I don't see any crysis type games on the horizon. Big budget pc exclusives are going the way of the dinosaur. The pc holiday lineup this year is the worst I have ever seen.
As for ATI/NVIDIA I predict a stock drop because they are used to profits from pc gamers upgrading their systems to play the latest games. As games go multiplat it means that consoles will be the baseline and thus upcoming games will be playable on current gen video cards.
I love you.

first of all.....congradulations...you win the award for the most disgracefull post ever.
okay...but seriously...where to begin.....
1. Project Offset is exclusive again...this has now been confirmed by Intel.
2. There are plenty of big budget PC games coming out....Spore had a budget of 50 million...and are you actually going to claim that the 3 blizzard games coming out have small budgets? Than there are the MMO's...which budget wise dwarf all console games.
3. I dont know about ATI...but as for Nvidia, last year, was their strongest year ever...they even got named company of the year by forbes.

The vast majority of console gamers have a pc. Most of those pcs can play Spore.
I don't consider this to be any more of an exclusive than The Sims or Nancy Drew. They are games that are designed with the average pc in mind.
Look at how many video cards Spore supports:

360 has 512mb of RAM, PS3 has 256mb of RAM, Crysis on PC requires 1GB of RAM -MINIMUM-, explain again how it's gonna work and look better on consoles exactly? Unless you want textures that look like a cat crapped them out, and the game to run at like 5 FPS, the game wouldn't work.
Hardware specs don't translate like that from PC to console. Gears on 360 still looks comparable to the PC version which requires more than 512mb to match the 360. If what you say is true, then all games on 360 would look poorly and run like crap.

Its comparable because the developers didnt add many graphical enhancements? if any? just more AA and higher REZ and much higher framerate.

The logic is in the fact that a pc exclusive needs to be carefully defined before a comparison to consoles can be made. Are flash games pc exclusives? What about games that can run on any computer? What if they can run on any new Vista computer? Should they still be given equal weight to something like Fable 2?
Should XBLA games then count as xbox exclusives?
Comparing pc to console exclusives only really makes sense if the pc games in question require hardware that is similar or greater to the console. Otherwise it is an apples to oranges comparison.

PC360Wii
Contrary to popular belief an Xbox 360 is not a standard gaming pc in a box with half a gig of ram. The 360 has a custom triple core ibm powerpc cpu that is designed for 3d drawing, and a custom video card that is designed to work closely with the cpu. The 360 also benefits from not having a heavy os overhead.
This is why a game designed for the 360 can actually run worse on a pc if not ported properly. Could Crysis run on the 360? Probably, but since the Crysis engine is designed for a standard gaming pc it would probably take a lot of work to make it run at a decent level. I bet if they actually tried bringing Crysis to consoles they would just use the multiplat Far Cry 2 engine and slap Crysis 3d models on it and call it Crysis Predator or something.

I know it seems ridiculous considering Relic havent brought any of their RTSs to consoles. But when i read this, it just seemed there was a possibility there.
"Relic sees RTS on console as a very interesting proposition but so far, it hasn't been a good fit for the games we have made," producer Mark Noseworthy told CVG in an interview to be published later this week.
The control scheme is again to blame. "We don't see porting a traditional PC RTS to console as a very good strategy because the controls, by definition, are incompatible with the game design. To do RTS on console right, you have to develop from the ground up and rethink what it means to have real-time-strategy gameplay."
There is some good news for Relic's console fans (the studio also did The Outfit on 360) though in the form of this little bone: "Dawn of War II isn't a traditional RTS and I think it would make a much better candidate for porting to console than any of our previous games but there are no such plans right now."
Anyways project offset is multiplat and doesn't have a release date. I don't see any crysis type games on the horizon. Big budget pc exclusives are going the way of the dinosaur. The pc holiday lineup this year is the worst I have ever seen.dc337

My point has been made by your own attempt at defining which pc games are exclusive and which are not. It is a subjective definition and must be clearly defined before anyone compares pc to console exclusives. You draw the line at flash games, I draw it at games that can be played on a Vista-capable pc. Thus I do not consider Spore to be a pc exclusive. Crysis yes, Spore no.

I didn't draw that line. TO me even flash games are exclusive. There's only one definition of exclusive, you can't make up your own.
