Does Realm Reborn (DX!1) look better than Witcher 3?

@Krelian-co: I will as I have been gaming for over two decades. It's not rocket science to tell it means much more on some genres then others.

High fps definitely helps with Ex Primals. Fortunately, the PS4 version is decent, but i'd hate to try the PS3 version on Shiva Extreme... She's a shitshow with a decent connection/high fps.

You said in an earlier post that the PS4 version never dips below 60 except in FATEs. I showed you a video proving that the PS4 version frequently dips below 60. Now you're telling me that 60 FPS doesn't matter and that framerate dips aren't noticeable anyway. What does that say about how determined you are to justify your purchase of a PS4, and of this game on PS4?

@princeofshapeir: Read what I said again. I said it runs at 60fps and never drops below 30. It does have slight dips below 30 but I never claimed it was a steady 60. It features max assets at playable frame rates. A 20fps advantage on a MMO wouldn't be what I call leaps and bounds better.

The controller integration is really good with ARR. That being said, rocking a WM would be difficult.

I'm so far behind in the story, think I'm like 3 major patches behind in the main story. I've just been gearing out my classes lol XD

Realm Reborn lets you turn that off. Even with it on (Low quality objects at a distance) it still looks better.

I installed the PS4 version this evening to see what it was like (hadn't tried the console version since the PS3 one), and gawd that framerate and huge UI are horrible, and seriously how do people handle targetting in a competent manner with a pad, its just horrible.

For an MMO, it is fairly good. Mouse and keyboard obviously better, both for controls and graphics.

A mid end pc can 60fps easily.

@princeofshapeir: I've been thinking about diving into FFXIVARR. I played it during both beta tests a while back. I haven't seriously played an mmo since FFXI.

Nah. FFXIV world is very barren. Few objects, little foliage, weak lighting. Characters are also pretty undetailed, with low geometry and weak textures, altough the whole anime-style helps to hide it pretty well.

A realm reborn is a gorgeous MMO, though I wouldn't put it ahead of the witcher 3. MMO's like A realm reborn that are highly refined and polished are some of the best looking pc games. The thing with them though is they are all ways missing a bunch of foliage, shadows etc.. that you'd expect from a game like the witcher3 to push hard on. Both are great looking games though and are so far apart art style I don't know if they should really be compared outside of their ability and versatility as a pc game,

I'm in two minds whether I should get The Witcher 3 I have never played these sort of games before so I'm undecided at the moment.

I have the PC version as well and it's a night and day difference. Sure, it's a good version of the game if you don't have a good PC but still, from how people described it i thought it would be much closer the the PC version than it actually is.

Couldn't hurt to check out the trial and see if you like it

ARR is possible on PS3 its a last gen game and looks like a last gen game on PC and PS4

The Witcher 3 is a Next gen game and looks next gen theres no comparison the Witcher looks stunning and much better than ARR

But Final Fantasty 15 takes it to another level visually and looks better than the Witcher 3

I don't understand how anyone can post pictures from the internet and expect them to be taken seriously. It's why I never trust shot comparisons here. Anyone can find bad pics of any game and post them.

My friend: games can be upscaled in many respects; it would appear many games from last generation look better than the Witcher 3.

After much deep investigation (weeks), aside from generally being atheistically superior, the draw distance is better. It seems CPD have been having difficulty even maintaining a steady frame-rate with the downgrade.

Personally, I'll be holding off on this one, it seems like the wise choice.

Witcher 1's combat was absolutely pathetic... little tap rhythm minigame.

Witcher 2 was a mess..... clunky, innacurate .... no depth.

Most aspects of The Witcher are good... combat wasn't one of them.

Combat was overhauled with that mod/patch they released

Whats funny is the TC thinks that is the final version of the game and that its the pc version. All these images and video here is missing a lot of gameworks features as well. There is no vegetation detail, fur looks blah, HBAO+ is obviously not there, and soft shadows. Not the PC version for sure. And the fact that CD stated that you need more then the recommended requirements to max it says something as well

I have very little doubt of that. Nothing I have seen of FF15 tells me otherwise. It looks good, but like most other Japanese-made games, just a step behind the best Western-made games.

I don't agree, that's all there is to it. You are not speaking facts, only opinions. As an action RPG the combat was pretty satisfying for me. Certainly no worse than most other action RPG games I have played. Aside from maybe Dark Souls, but combat is pretty much the only thing going for that series (the Souls games are weak RPGs in most regards, in my opinion).
