Does Steam not have a quality check system?

Apparently, this game that was released on Steam....cannot be completed. Theres 1 level and the creator is bullshitting the ppl that bought the game with "A patch screwed things up, sorry" then the fix for that never came.

The only person to have the badges or whatever for completing all the levels is the creator.

This shit is too easily done on Steam....does it not have some sort of quality check system???

Listen....I know it would be ridiculous to ask to check every game...but this shit is ridiculous.

With something as dev friendly as steam you're going to get a few turd nuggets that slip through the pants and roll around on the floor...

I thought that was what steam's greenlit system was for. Like they all go through some review process before getting put into the store but then again I don't play many PC games from steam.

Steam store gets flooded with a lot of shit, and while that sucks, at least there's a refund system now.

Not really on any sort of a large scale. If it's a big enough problem they remove the game from Steam but won't issue refunds.

Same as Apple Store and Android / Windows Store ... too many to control, buyers have to take some responsibility. (im sure this shit will get shut down, but still.)

That thread was a disguised bash thread and to start controversy. I started this conversation b/c this sort of thing is actually a problem on PC/Steam.

OR I don't freak out about stupid shit that is always taken care of one way or another... Clearly you're new to the PC and Steam as you would know the way they handle checks was changed in 2011 to be much more relaxed to bring a higher level of diversity to the platform. Steam is essentially community moderated in conjunction with Valve employees, if there is any problem it is dealt with swiftly, the benefits of the way things are now greatly outweigh the negative things that slip through the cracks...

While the console people (Sony/Microsoft) are bad, the Valve are good people who care.

Do they not rectify any community related issue that crops up? Also I would put Microsoft in Valve's camp, they try things and when they fail to work they rectify the situation as quickly as possible, Sony just kind of says "**** you, we're going to continue doing things as we please".

I wish that not only Microsoft, but Sony as well would attempt to be more consumer friendly and hone their damage controlling abilities like valve did.

Microsoft has gotten a lot better over the past few years, obviously a lot of it has to do with their position in the market, still they've made drastic forward progress with consumer interest at the forefront. Microsoft has always done this though, they do something wrong and then they fix it, that is why Windows releases always go from great to crappy, great to crappy... They make mistakes, take in large amounts of feedback and then they followup with a fix or drastic changes based upon that feedback.

The fact that we're ignoring the fact that MS basically said "**** you" with the introduction of the X1 and was forced to changed their ways due to GAMERS....not the love and appreciation of gaming or some sort of "we have a big heart....we love you guys, here have some apple juice" shit is fucking amazing.

See that is where you're right, and you're wrong. Microsoft does say **** you we're doing this, however the community also says **** you back and then what does Microsoft do? They fix the problem and please their consumer base, they've always done this for everything, always.

Sony on the other hand says **** you we're doing this, and the community just kind of takes it, they don't fight back when problems arise so Sony just continues doing whatever they want, that's not good for a consumer.

This game looks stupid even if it did work and people should feel bad for playing it.

Let's see your statistics for that, you have no idea what the absorption rates are for the PlayStation 4, literally no one does, it's an impossible statistic to amass.

There's no problem here. The game was removed from the market and the people who purchased this were allowed a refund. I'm fine with Steam being more lenient about what is allowed on their market place as I have the judgement and critical thinking skills to determine whether or not to avoid the product, and even without those traits their are check and balances in place to prevent users from being scammed as is the case with this game.

@mr_huggles_dog: The game is no longer listed and you can get a full refund. I'm not seeing the issue. Like someone said, every now and then a bad apple will slip through, but Steam tends to act quickly.

That's kind of why the refund system is there.
