[QUOTE="Brownesque"] Both consoles had a horrible first year. Fortunately come November both of them had some strong releases, but the launch of both consoles was pretty dismal.Brownesque

If by first year you mean the first 12 months, then the 360 had an excellent first year.

Hell no, there are only a few standouts.

Are you joking? kameo, cod2, condemned, perfect dark zero, gotham racing 3, dead or alive 4, fightnight round 3, graw, oblivion, dead rising, saints row, splinter cell double agent, gears of war.

Those are just the games I can name off the top of my head. There are way way more.

Saints Row? Ugghghghghgh. I wouldn't touch that game with a ten foot pole. I've never played it, though. Double Agent got mixed reviews, I wouldn't call it a standout....Condemned got pretty average reviews (8 territory), PDZ is generally agreed on this forum to be less-than-standout, Kameo too.... I hate Call of Duty 2, it was an average WWII shooter.... PGR3 is probably a quality racer but I've never touched it before... DoA4, while I haven't played that particular one is probably a very good game and FN3 was the first game to truly excite me about the console, and Gears of War is indisputably a huge release... BTW those are the only games you can name off the topic of your head because they're the only games.

Dead or Alive 4 is the 2nd game I got for the 360 and I love it, I would give it a 9.0 IMO, though it had some flaws. I liked Saints Row 1 and it deserved it's AA score, had some technical problems though, I don't understand the hate for it.

:roll:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_360_games there's the full games list. There were close to 200 games at the end of 2006, many of them which were both highly rated and not named in my list.

if i had not played them already, quite a few. i'd buy dead rising, crackdown, dead or alive 4, Ghost Recon, etc. however, i've played them. heck, i went back and played to first uncharted when i got my PS3, and i'll most likely pick up motorstorm after i've gone through my backlog of games. a good title is a good title.

I don't see his point really, I could say the same thing about old games from 15 years ago. Fact is I'd still rather play Yoshi's Island than Uncharted 2, Demon Souls or inFamous. A great game stands the test of time no matter what.

True but no sane gamer would pick Yoshi's Island over Gears 2, Halo 3 and Lost Odyssey, lol

[QUOTE="CanYouDiglt"]Whatever bud your argument is so very weak. Like i said before I am so very happy to consider myself a gamer and not a PS3 gamer. Do not try to twist this into OMG the lemms said this since....YOU MADE THE THREAD. If your the type that only considers games in the last few months good and the rest trash then that is you. Do not act like people that enjoy playing games act that way. Your whole idea was and this is from your postSwift_Boss_A
riiiiight....Why don't you take another look at my original post, better yet READ IT. I am not talking about existing console owners but about potential and casual buyers. Such gamers do not look at games 3 years old when they purchase a system but the recently released and upcoming games. This is not an opinion it's pretty much fact and due to this the PS3 and 360's library is pretty much even but this year PS3 has an edge in terms of recently released games. of course once they purchase a system they may end up buying old games.

That is not fact. It is your opinion. Do you think all those people buying PS2s for the last 3 years have been doing so because of the recently released and upcoming new PS2 games? Not a chance.

Or what about the fact that Halo3 continues to chart in the top 25 two years after release?

You don't know what you are talking about. A more realistic assessment is that the first half of people who buy a console (or any product) will skew higher towards the early adopter/enthusiast segment. Those people are more likely to keep abreast and more current on titles.

The second half of people will skew higher to the late adopter/follower segment. Those people are more likely to rate price higher than anything else. They will tend to buy whatever the market tells them to buy through word of mouth. The will skew more heavily tobuying on discount or used; thus many of them will by definition be playing older gamesall the time.

We have already reached the halfway point.

It used too but the PS3 has made great strides in the last year or so. I think in the long run the PS3 will "win" by a hairbecause almost every 3rd party game is multiplat or only timed exclusive so the main difference between consoles is 1st party and Sony has the upper hand there. That is something MS needs to address.

The xbox 360 has no magnets or acids that are capable of destroying PS3 games in a radius. If that was the case Sony would probably sue Microsoft for damages. I'm sure when one 360 game gets made, no PS3 games are destroyed.

For me it does, which is why i own 60 or so 360 games and 1 ps3 game *bioshock*

But on a realistic level? no and the ps3 doesn't destroy the 360's.

The first 3 for xbox 360 makes sense (and Uncharted) , but would you really go back and play GRAW and Motorstorm with the sequels being out ? These aren't story driven games. I recommend just snagging Motorstorm Pacific Rift at this point for you. It has all the improvements that the first game needed. There's not much reason to look that farback. Enjoy the latest andlook tothe sequel if you want more.

absolutely. mainly motorstorm because i like the baja/desert theme better than the tropical one.

I would. Its rare you ever find a game with virtually no problems at all. That game is Yoshi's Island.

In short: No.

360 flag-wavers are still bragging about more games on their system? Well, if you count a bunch of half finished rush-job games from like 3 years agothen ya, you're right.

PS3's been keeping up for awhile. Team 360 need to come up with something new to try feel superior.
