specs don't make anything better than anything.
games are what makes some consoles better than other consoles.
this gen both systems were equal but based on sales xbox 360 had better exclusives
while ps3 had more choices of exlusive content it did not sell as good as xbox360 exclusive content
Â
will this remain next gen?
Microsoft should clock it up to 2.75ghz and slap a watercooler on it.
Then, I'd be impressed.
Â
The PS4 has a 1.84 TFLOP rating out of the box without any overclocking.
The XB1 had a 1.23 TFLOP rating out of the box before they decided to increase the GPU and CPU clocks.
The XB1 is probably up to 1.33? 1.34? now, with all the boosting. But, the GPU does more work than a CPU on a gaming console, so boosting the CPU might just increase stuff like response time when switching Cable TV channels or Kinect Swipe Gestures on the XB1.
You won't see a noticably higher framerate in any games with just a 0.15ghz CPU boost. It's the GPU they need to boost to get noticably better gaming performance.
lol as If tflops are the end metric by which system power is measured? oh nethercrap please keep being you, you provide to many laughs.Microsoft should clock it up to 2.75ghz and slap a watercooler on it.

Can I ask why this means anything anymore? Both systems will be huge upgrades over their predecessors and both will have stunning games for all of us to play. Why are we still going back and forth on console power? It will fully be in the hands of the developers and how far they can or want to push a particular console!ShoTTyMcNaDeSFighting for 2nd place, all over again
Overclocking does not make the hardware better. It just means that Microsoft got desperate. And even with the upclock, Sony's GPU is still superior, soooooo.....Yeah. It's a lesson in futility--especially since Microsoft has only increased the likelihood of an overheat; RROD revisited.
as of now 43 people have no idea what they are talking about. 3 kinda have an idea. and myself and 6 others actually understannd. it is lonely being in a place where your smarter then almost everyone. Thsi poll right here shows why people are so dumb. that not only do they have 0 idea what they are talking about, but they also are willing to argue their stupidity and even vote for their wrong answer.

HAHAHA!!
Also, not really a narc but sub lvl 10.
It depends on the workload.does xbox one improved specs tip the balance in its favor and makes it a more powerful system than the ps4?

you are trying way to hard to boost your low self esteem over the internet.Â
They just upped the clocks so no.
PS4 still has the faster RAM and better GPU with async. compute support.
Spec-wise PS4 is still more "powerful," not accounting for:
Bandwidth wise they are largely the same, TOTAL power wise they are the same, developers agree.
Developers > You.
PS4 and X1 are the same power.
150Mhz uplift is minor.Overclocking does not make the hardware better. It just means that Microsoft got desperate. And even with the upclock, Sony's GPU is still superior, soooooo.....Yeah. There's 8 cores with 0.150 Ghz uplift.Microsoft should clock it up to 2.75ghz and slap a watercooler on it.

I've been telling people this all day. It's amazing how many people seem to think these slight upclocks are something significant. MS might have picked up a few sales by fooling the technically illiterate.

"Of course, the Xbox One isnt to be counted out. We asked Guay how the Xbox One version of Watch_Dogs would be different compared to the PC and PS4 versions of the game, to which he replied that, The Xbox One is a powerful platform, as of now we do not foresee a major difference in on screen result between the PS4 and the Xbox One. Obviously since we are still working on pushing the game on these new consoles, we are still doing R&D."

"We're still very much in the R&D period, that's what I call it, because the hardware is still new," Guay answered. "It's obvious to us that its going to take a little while before we can get to the full power of those machines and harness everything. But, even now we realise that both of them have comparable power, and for us thats good, but everyday it changes almost. Were pushing it and were going to continue doing that until [Watch Dogs] ship date."

How much more powerful?
AY: It depends what youre doing. GPU, like 40 per cent more powerful. DDR5 is basically 50 per cent more powerful than DDR3, but the memory write [performance] is bigger on Xbox One so it depends on what youre doing.
How is that going to translate to on-screen results for the kinds of games you want to make? So to optimise War Thunder on both consoles you could hypothetically make a better, prettier version on PS4?
AY: Yep.
KY: Probably yes. But again, thats not a very big deal.

^^^^^^ Read and weep SONY drones. Developers > You Truth hurts, relying on theoretical specs is useless, to understand the differences you would have to be intimately familiar with each architecture.its funny ms keep on eating their own words this past few months..they talk about how they made the xbone not powerful and that it doesnt matter..and now they trying to improved their specs on production day..lmao..xbone is a rushed console and will have many issues with it..
Microsoft should clock it up to 2.75ghz and slap a watercooler on it.

Â
Its a 10% CPU advantage over the rumored PS4 clocks. Â The fact its "just a 0.15Ghz CPU boost" is irrelevant, the Xbox 1 per thread performance is a solid 10% higher. Â
It certainly doesnt make it better than PS4, but its a real advantage over the PS4 nontheless. Â Â
