Super linear gameplay, scripted events and great graphics.
I saw the video today and I was positive it was a PS3 exclusive until I saw it was a multiplat.
Anyway, follow the link below.

Crysis 2 was also impressive while they showed us PC footage. I guess Bulletstorm won't look that good on consoles.
Painkiller was a pc game (although later receiving an xbox port years later), so unless epic games has had their way with them I would assume they are using the pc as their main platform. SAGE_OF_FIRE
Pretty much this. I personally just don't see what's so PS3-exclusive-like about this game at all.
No its got way too much colour to be a PS3 exclusive
joke
I guess Gears 3 will look on par, if not better than this

to me it looks like a xbox360 exclusive, similiar to gears or war.
I don't think it looks like a PS3 exclusive. Looks just like a regular multiplatform title in my opinion in terms of graphics.
Yeah, because no PC360 game has that

You make it sound like linearity is a bad thing.

It is when the devs try to cover up their uncreative, linear level design with cinematic, scripted events and a big focus on graphics.
But we'll have to see if Bulletstorm turns out that way.
... It is? How?Since when did really linear FPSs start becoming a problem? Back in the 90s, all of the FPSs were straight romps with tons of scripted stuff, we all loved them. Then Halo came out and offered a bit more open areas but really lacked any major scripted events that were intense and exciting.
A developer has a lot of decisions to make when they are designing the game. Do they want to strive to give a very open-ended experienceto the player which takes more man power to make a game in which the players truly have choice and have to make decisions that impact the game and doesn't come off a linear shooter, or they can focus on making it very linear and scripted while keeping the gameplay excited and varied with different in-game events.
Developers who try to do both fail (which is why im scared for Crysis 2 a bit). Developers who truly embrace their game design and know what level of blockbuster gaming and open ended gaming can make fantastic titles. The entire Half-Life series is just full of setpeices and scripted events and people would have it no other way. Halo CE decided it was to put more emphasis on the shooting elements and combat to give a more tactical feel without reyling on massively scripted events in every fight to make it interesting.
Bulletstorm realizes what it wants to do, focus on over-the-top action. A big, open game world would feel very out of place here. This game is meant to be high action with tons of explosions, stupid one-liners out of the characters mouths, and enough big bosses to make Shadow of the Colossus feel inferior. I love what they are doing with this game. It knows what it is, it has some great production values, and People Can Fly is a strong developer. Pair them with Epic, and we have a winner on our hands.
Yes, but now, the issue is of him bashing the PS3 as a console full of "linear" games. Now I don't see a problem in that, but I just want to know your opinion of this possible troll's post? note: let me stress "POSSIBLE". Off-topic, but I just feel like asking, is your sig's/tag's theme ArmA 2?Since when did really linear FPSs start becoming a problem? I don't see linearity as a problem either, especially as I don't particularly like open world games anymore. I've got as much playtime out of U2s single player as I did RDR, maybe even more. I was able to replay U2 multiple times and have a blast with it, and there wasn't any "filler," while RDR I trudged through once and don't plan on going back to it. It's a good game but, like all open world games, lacks focus.

Being linear can be a good thing if it is high quality. The Half Life series and Portal are good examples of this. If a game is extremel linear like those, a more involved and interesting STORY can be told. Kind of like reading a book. If it is done correctly it can be amazing, if it is done poorly (probably FEAR 3) it can just look boring. Bulletstorm looks like it will be on the upper end in quality.

i think it looks more like a gears of war iteration.

Yeah, but Half-Life 2 does the linear gameplay differently than, say, Call of Duty. It often does offer large, open areas, and throws new gameplay mechanics at you every 15 minutes. It's brilliantly designed, and there's a lot more to this game than simply shooting enemies (in fact, the parts in Nova Prospekt and City 17 bored me because they were too action-focussed), so the game stays interesting for the most part. When you take Call of Duty, however, you are mostly forced to play through levels exactly as the game tells you to, because alternative routes are conveniently blocked off by turrets, rubble, doors that can only be opened by NPCs, or invisible walls. The difference between these games is that in HL2 youmostly decide the pace, while in CoD the game decides the pace for you. Needless to say, the former is way more fun and rewarding.
It looks like the type of game that gets old quick....they go on and on about points and combos, who cares...the fact that the dude can slide like 20 feet looks stupid. If it doesn't have an interesting story it has nothing going for it. IMO. One of those games that trys TOO hard to be cool....doesn't surprise me with cliffy behind it. soapandbubbles...Sarcasm?

There is no doubt that it is looking great visually, but there is just something about the game itself that really turns me off. Not that I have a problem with over the top games or anything, I am just finding the way it is done here to be a bit on the cheesy side. The main character comes across as being rather annoying to me as well. Regardless, I'll probably end up playing it at some point. Who knows, it may end up surprising me?

Since when does the main guy in Bullet storm have a booster on his back? Somehow he magically can slide 20 feet across the floor with little push. Vanquish is a 3rd person cover based action game, that works for it. He has a futuristic suit that gives a boost ability which looks fun and addictive for the type of game, be different if vanquish was a FPS. Bullet storm just looks like it will get old fast. IMO
Vanquish is all bout intense fast gameplay...that looks insane.. fact you compare the 2 is laughable.
