It looks multiplat. due to the UE3.

Since when does the main guy in Bullet storm have a booster on his back? Somehow he magically can slide 20 feet across the floor with little push. Vanquish is a 3rd person cover based action game, that works for it. He has a futuristic suit that gives a boost ability which looks fun and addictive for the type of game, be different if vanquish was a FPS. Bullet storm just looks like it will get old fast. IMOThe reason I compared the two was that you're complaints about Bulletstorm can be applied to Vanquish. It's more laughable that you're taking Bulletstorm so seriously that you can't suspend your disbelief.Vanquish is all bout intense fast gameplay...that looks insane.. fact you compare the 2 is laughable.

Also, i've played both. And the slide ability is pretty addictive, and if it was removed from the game I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun.
ya... halo invented that... give me a break. Halo was not much different than anything else, enemies came in waves as you move on from checkpoint to checkpoint. God there was scripted event all across halo, its even in the review on this website.Since when did really linear FPSs start becoming a problem? Back in the 90s, all of the FPSs were straight romps with tons of scripted stuff, we all loved them. Then Halo came out and offered a bit more open areas but really lacked any major scripted events that were intense and exciting.
A developer has a lot of decisions to make when they are designing the game. Do they want to strive to give a very open-ended experienceto the player which takes more man power to make a game in which the players truly have choice and have to make decisions that impact the game and doesn't come off a linear shooter, or they can focus on making it very linear and scripted while keeping the gameplay excited and varied with different in-game events.
Developers who try to do both fail (which is why im scared for Crysis 2 a bit). Developers who truly embrace their game design and know what level of blockbuster gaming and open ended gaming can make fantastic titles. The entire Half-Life series is just full of setpeices and scripted events and people would have it no other way. Halo CE decided it was to put more emphasis on the shooting elements and combat to give a more tactical feel without reyling on massively scripted events in every fight to make it interesting.
Bulletstorm realizes what it wants to do, focus on over-the-top action. A big, open game world would feel very out of place here. This game is meant to be high action with tons of explosions, stupid one-liners out of the characters mouths, and enough big bosses to make Shadow of the Colossus feel inferior. I love what they are doing with this game. It knows what it is, it has some great production values, and People Can Fly is a strong developer. Pair them with Epic, and we have a winner on our hands.

What tc is getting at, is the game looks on rails to the point of interactive movie. There are too many press b watch something happen moments, like in games like uncharted 2 and modern warfare 2.

Huh, like what in Uncharted?
It looks like the type of game that gets old quick....they go on and on about points and combos, who cares...the fact that the dude can slide like 20 feet looks stupid. If it doesn't have an interesting story it has nothing going for it. IMO. One of those games that trys TOO hard to be cool....doesn't surprise me with cliffy behind it. soapandbubblesHaha. Why are you taking this game so seriously? It goes out of its way to be silly and dumb, not cool. And that's what it's got going for it, coupled with the fun looking mechanics surrounding the combo kill system, such as the sliding. I do hope all those points are actually good for something though. If it just increases your rank on a leaderboard then that's not particularly interesting.
