I lol'd.Most likely no one really believes it, but they put up a front saying they do.bronxxbombersIts just to annoy other users, why do people say that sony will go bankrupt and Discontinue the Ps3? for the same reason people claim that most Xbox are broken and that 360 sales are inflated by repaired 360s and more nonsense. This Board is too predictable Fanboys trying to make others flame each other.
if i let a console being junk keep me away from it i would never have stuck with my ps2
sw = short memory?
Who cares? Because outside of these forums it still sells more than the PS3 and slim or not will stay ahead overall. Pretty good for "garbage" huh? And also I need to throw in the fact that the Wii is ahead of both and launched after the 360.
You must not realize that plenty of people don't have to actually pay since it's under warranty. They just have no videogames for a few weeks while they wait for their new system, Oh No.
Explain and witness the insanely large broken 360 threads with legitimate 360 owners complaining and proving that they own a 360, to detail the flaws of their system. Do you, SW, actually believe cows spent all their time, all the versions of the "broken 360 thread" to somehow make the 360 look bad? Did they create a fake gamertag under their usernames proving they own a 360, then complain about it? Do ya? Besides that, do you seriously believe the 360 isnt a POS? Anyway, heres the threads. They grow every day  http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=24948509 http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26151320 http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26775296 But wait, you dont believe the 360 owners who have complained about their POS system. I agree, that 54percent poll is a bit off, but do you at least believe legitimate retailers when they say its over 30% ???? i realy dont care what any1 say i got my 360 a lilttle under 3 years ago and forget the rrod i never even gotten an error once. the only thing i ever gotten was about 1/2 a year ago when playing ninja gaiden 2 froze on me and i had to reboot. a freeze is normal i had to reboot my ps3 once when playing assasin creed also i had to reboot my pc hundreds of time this is normal. i dont care about poll even if the 360 are 99% defected as long as im part of the 1 percent none defected i dont gve a damn. my 360 never over heat also i now install my games on the harddrive so it is even cooler while my ps3 is an OVEN WHICH SCARES ME ALITTLE I PLAY FOR 3 HOUR AND WHEN I TOUCH THE BOTTOM OF THE PS3 IT IS VERY HOT (any1 denying this is a liar the ps3 is a grill when u play for more than 1 hour). but i know ps3 rarely if never break so i dont care.
Mine broke once, But it was becouse of me.
I was trying to take care of it, and blew it out with an air compressor. Static must have messed it up.
But other than that, I use the console all the time, Keep it ventillated, and take care of it well.
It's never hiccuped.
So, For me, It is great hardware, that provides me great games. And thats all that matters to me.
Heck, the blueray drive on my playstation stopped working, unrelated to my doing, So I sent it in, and got it fixed, was faster than my xbox, but I got the same ps3 back, but now covered with scratches, and all beat up on the corners. Were I got a brand new, shiny, scratchless xbox back.
So, I have had a better experience with the xbox hardware. But I know that it's unusual.
well all of my friends and co-workers that have 360's have went through one rrod including my self but 54% is a bit on the high side...doesnt the lemon law or whatever kick in at this point?
Actually the 54% comes from a poll. Most polls are tainted when it comes to 360 vs Ps3 vs Wii things.well all of my friends and co-workers that have 360's have went through one rrod including my self but 54% is a bit on the high side...doesnt the lemon law or whatever kick in at this point?

What's plenty? Half? Okay then, here's the mathematic problem for the day. Take the number of total 360's sold, subtract 33% (which I think is generous in MS's favour). Now you have the RRoD'd console sum approximated. Now since the warranty itself wasn't issued untill well after launch, and isn't a golden "new 360 ticket" (ie:doesn't cover several of the consoles notable harware issues) I'd say it's pretty generous as well to say divide that # in two. What you have left is my approximation of "inflated" sales through console re-purchases after hardware failure. Subtract that number & I'd bet PS3/360 would be neck and neck in sales. You must not realize that plenty of people don't have to actually pay since it's under warranty. They just have no videogames for a few weeks while they wait for their new system, Oh No.

I've had one for over a year, used it on a weekly basis, and have had it freeze twice after two 8+ hour gaming marathons. Regardless of its failure rate percentage, it still isn't 100% and is covered completely by Microsoft... so why is the 360 "trash?"

I've already stated how the poll is junk.
look at ps3 ,, ylod , ,
bluray drives messing up etc
you act as if your console hasnt had problems
the onl y console this gen that has been mostly problem free is wii - only about 10 percent of the early updaters and a short amount of people had problems with ssbb , , and nintendo acted faster then a fly on that one so i dont see why sony fans can vouch anything
because when my controller randomly stopped working right and sony refuse to fix it even though it was a day old ,
and they wanted me to pay for shipping what trash is that , ,
so ya

Yeah, I think its 236% of all their systems crash. Yep, over 100%. Infact, anyoen who has a 360 out there will get RROD tonight. Even the unborn 360's will get it tonight. I'm amazed that mine still works even! Infact, all of my games make it overheat each day, so MS pays for a new one for me every single day! I'm not kidding, my xbox only plays one game... RROD! This one time, it was a purple ring of death, and i was like "hey, 360, whats up with this?" and it just got all embarassed, and turned RROD. You should have seen it. When mine touches a network it even crashes any other xbox on that network. Infact, my xbox wasnt made to RROD, RROD made my xbox to have a reason to live. It's crazy!can people read at Gamespot? I am not saying the 54 percent is accurate people, READ. I am saying you are FOOLISH to think the 360 is not poorly made and doesnt have a high failure rate. And again, I present, in case you didnt believe, an option to read what retailers have said. I find theirs more accurate then the magazines poll!So you're using Topics on this site as evidence? Lol *walks out of thread*

Probibly explains the lack of factual data in terms of failure percentage. I know 1 person out of atleast 30 people still on their first box, that says more to me than any poll or forum post.

Sure, everyone does. Ancedotal evidence is the epotime of reliable in here
It is mathematically impossible for the GI poll to result in a rising percentage.
Its all logic and reasoning. You guys trying to back up this survey with personal experiences. Its like saying, "2 + 2 = 5 because 3 of my friends said so". We all know the 360 has a high failure rate, but the GI poll is a terrible reference. Just drop it, use another source.
Had you have just said " I believe the 360 has a higher failure rate because of my friends" Would of been linguistically correct. Once you included that GI poll percentage, your entire argument went in the trash.
You mean the Internet is wrong?! Oh what to believe ._.siLVURcrossIt can't be wrong. BTW I like your P4 sig.

*continues to watch mac gyver episode 8 season 1 on his elite via netflix*
*walks to his nephews room and sticks his head in to look at the pro launch system thats still working*
hmmm i guess im just really lucky.
Oh and i just picked up like my 45th 360 game sonic the hedgehog.
TC none of the links you showed proved anything other than the 360 breaks which everyone knows.
I think the failure rate was about 35% at the start of the xbox life but it would have came down with the changes they made to the new console hardware.
Two of my friend took their consoles back to the shop before the one year store warranty was up so they could get them replaced. (I live in UK) There was nothing wrong with them but they justargued they randomlyhad RROD.(I think one of them might have done the towel trick)I know the number wouldn't be massive but i bet quite a few people done this.
I bought a 360 at launch and it RROD on me but it wasn't a big deal as it only took a week to repair. The funny thing was i had a PS3 at the time but i hardly played it that week as there was no good games out for it yet so that was sitting there doing nothing before and after my 360 died and got repaired. I later gave my 360 to mybabysister and bought a Elite. Both consoles are still working fine with no problems.
For most people even if they got RROD then it wasn't really a big deal for more than a couple of weeks. Its a bigger deal to the PS3 fanboys who has used this same argument again and again.
No, I don't believe the 54% rate. I've had my 360 for over a year, I play it a lot, and I've had not one single issue with it. Out of the 12-15 people I know that have one has had a hardware failure (it wasn't RROD).
I don't know why Sony fanboys care so much, either. Quite sad.
Cows, Sheep, Hermits and sour Lem's will continue to throw it out there untill the problem is fixed. What would the Lem's say I wonder if the PS3 had a 33% or higher defective rate? You're right, they'd probably bring it up once or twice and leave it at that. BTW It's also notable that MS admitted the fail rate was in the high sixty percential pre-launch, sure it's come down but how much and knowing that what makes it so hard to believe? Also, I always hear the inevitable "none of my friends have it" argument, which of cours can sometimes not be a lie... but this is also offset by people who have had numerous system fails. I know a guy on 360 # 7 (admittedly, he plays constantly) two guys on #5 and many on 2nd and 3rd.No, I don't believe the 54% rate. I've had my 360 for over a year, I play it a lot, and I've had not one single issue with it. Out of the 12-15 people I know that have one has had a hardware failure (it wasn't RROD).

based on my friends. the 360 has a 100% failrateAndrovinus
Based on my friends the PS3 has a 125% fail rate, some of them who didn't have a PS3 said they had one fail on them it is that bad, :o
Yes we know that the 360 has a high fail rate. It isn't 54%.
We all know the X360 has alot higher failure rate than the PS3 and the Wii, even a custom gaming rig fails less. I thought my friend was on his third now, but it is actually his FOURTH X360!!! Allmost everyone I know that has an X360 is on his second and third console, no wonder it sells more than the PS3:P.
