my friend that i know own the 360 and all he got is shootin games..lol...dont you guys want variety?? dont it get boring just runnin around and shooting? blue dragon isnt comin out till the end of this year..even though there is about 5 jrps comin on xbox360 but there is another dozen or more fps comin its way..why is it that the 360 is more focus on fps?? or shootin up stuff..
FPS games are my favorite because I love online and they are the most widely available and have the most varying gameplay options. And there's nothing better than outsmarting noobs and hosing 'em down with graphical lead!

Yes, very tired of them. In fact, I can't stnad them. To me they are one of the most boring genres around. I got tired of FPSs after goldeneye. It's one of the main reasons I don't own a 360 or play on my PC much.

It seems to me that FPS is the cheap way out for developers. They all play pretty much the same way, and in this generation of online-enabled games they just add an online element to make up for a lack of detail in a backstory.

I haven't liked shooters since the late 90s. I was kind of into CS for a while (2001-2002) but even that got real old real fast to me. Honestly, I think I'd rather play the old FPS (original Doom, Quake, Unreal, Hexen, etc.) than anything modern. I don't know why... I've been gaming for a long time... Platformers have never gotten old to me, but I would rather play Galaga than GoW. Maybe I'm weird.... :wink:

You might want to take a look at the top 360 games here. You would be surprised how many of them are shooters. (Out of ~88 games)Felous1
I agree with you that the 360 has diversity, but look at what usually sells the most on XBOX. I'll give you a hint: Gears of War, Call of Duty 2 and 3, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, F.E.A.R., Prey, Far Cry, Graw, Perfect Dark Zero, and just recently Lost Planet, Crackdown, and most likely soon to be Halo3, Bioshock, Haze, Unreal Tournament 2007, Graw 2, The Darkness, and Shadowrun while plenty of other good games games that are not shooters are left in the dust such as Viva Pinata and Kameo. Now I'm not saying every game that isn't a shooter doesn't sell well cause examples of this are Dead Rising, Saints Row, and Elder Scrolls Oblivion and whatever sports and racing games you want to throw into the mix, but 360 owners clearly need to buy and support other games that are not shooters if they really want a huge variety of games to come to their console.
Sometime, but then I just play Oblivion, Chromehounds, Test Drive, Splinter Cell, BFME2, Dead or Alive 4, Dead Rising, Condemed, NHL, NBA, Madden, Fifa, Amped 3, Star Trak: Legacy, Blazing Angels, Burnout, NFS Carbon/Most wanted, Bomberman, FF 11, Dynasty Warriors, Enchanted Arms, FNR 3, Full Auto, Kameo, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Ninty Nine Knights, Over G Fighter, King Kongf, Project Gotham, Rumble Rose, Saints Row, Crackdown, The Godfather, Viva Pinata, or WWE........ you know, just until the ol' blood lust comes back.
I'm not going in the 360 argument. But in regards of FPS, I'm not a fan of them, If it wasn't for Goldeneye and Half life I don't think I would play them for real .

FPS are okay if you played one you played them all. Though the ones that really sparkle usually make the best gaming experience (Halo, Timesplitters, half-life, Perfect Dark[N64]).
They all play the same? Yeah right. Doom 3 plays differently then Half-Life 2 which plays differently then Rainbow Six: Vegas which plays differently then old Rainbow Six games which play different then Counter-Strike, and none of these play the same. Saying they are all the same is like saying all sports are the same, all driving games are the same, and all RPGs are the same.

Thats all your friend has so by association the only games on 360 are shooters, ok fair enough, I have certianly seen arguments that make less sense on SW. Blue Dragon's release date is 6/05/07 by the way.
Don't PS3 fans ever get tired of playing nothing? While I agree that the X360 has a lot of shooters it does not mean the other genres are lacking. Most Xbox fans like shooters above other genres, duh, but most PS3/Wii fans only see those shooters. The X360 has a great library of different genres, and tons of up and coming RPG's. Heck the X360 even has RTS games coming for it...
