Doom: Console or PC?

If you are getting the game, which system are you getting it for and why?

Doom has always been a PC experience for me, but I wasn't able to get into the PC beta when it was out. I did get into it on my PS4 however and had a great time with it and think that people getting it on console will still be pleased.

PC for me.

PC, if the game reviews well. The last Doom was a disappointment.

Xbox One for me, been playing the XBLA games from Xbox 360 on there via BC. Though very much so a PC game in memory very much works as a console game too. I'd totally double tip if they ever decided to improve on it, such as bringing dedicated cloud virtual servers to help latency issues while playing with friends abroad instead of a faulty P2P networking of the Xbox 360 version. Plus, they could surely pull of widescreen support if they wanted, they didn't quite bother with Doom on Xbox 360, just put black bars on left and right.

Anyhow, wondering if they'll offer Doom I & II over BC for people who get the game on Xbox One. After all they've been big about using BC as an incentives, so why should that stop here. Oh, even offering Doom 3 on top of it might be good, if not I'd still pay for it.

If I didn't have the PC hardware to run it, I'd be totally ok getting it on my PS4, but for a game like this I'd prefer to have the feel of they keyboard and mouse. Plus, if this game ends up having any kind of modding fanbase like Doom 1 and 2 does, a "Brutal Doom" version of this game could be very interesting.

PS4, for two reasons: 1) Would prefer to have the game as part of my PSN trophy catalog over XBL; and, more importantly, 2) PC needs upgrading to run DOOM ideally and I don't have the funds for it at the present time

Console. I want to actually own my games.

Pc and one of the consoles. I wanna be able to nerd out on the desktop, and also be able to enjoy it while laying in bed.

You can't really collect on PC when not all big games are sold physically. MGSV for one didn't have one and that's one of the biggest title of the year. Rise of the Tomb Raider, I believe is another.

Owning games is much more consistent on consoles.

Depending on how good the reviews are I might get it for the PS4.

My reasoning? Because I like the big screen experience and my PC sucks for modern gaming.

PC, but I want a good SP experience. If it's pretty much MP, then I'm going to skip it.

It'd better be so fast paced I gotta have a mouse, or else it's not really doom. I realize...doom didn't actually have mouse-aim, it had...auto-height-aim...but never mind that!

Will the monsters fight each other if they get in each other's line of fire?

PC, if anything. I'm not liking the console game-look it has, but I'm hoping it's good anyway.

PC of course. Let's wait and see if the game is actually any good or not. I am not going to run out and buy it just because it is DOOM.

Even Rage was supposedly designed for consoles.

I still liked it way more playing it on PC.

You know it doesn't matter that you have physical copies of your PS4 games right ?

If Sony goes kapu,t PS servers go with them. Along with the authentication system that allows you to play your games.

Don't own a single fps game on consoles, don't think I'll make exception on this one either, tho I'm not sure if I'll be getting it at all(vids been looking slow and non impressive)

PC cause I play DOOM 3 on the original Xbox years ago when I didn't have a PC at the time and I want to play it on PC this time around to see what I been missing after all these years.

PC version for me, the way it was meant to be played.

Ill wait for my mates opinions on it after it is released, I have a feeling this game will turn out to be really, REALLY crap. Id be getting it on PC if it turns out to be worth it since I didnt buy any consoles this gen.

Console, unless the $800 PC I'm building can run it decently.

I was going to purchase it on the PS4 but, since I have my own gaming PC now then PC it is.

It's a shooter, so if you have a PC you should get it for the PC. Mouse and keyboard controls are infinitely better for FPSs than a controller.

This is a based on an opinion and people need to understand that this opinion is not a fact. Outside of this I will like for this game to be crossbuy with the Xbox so that I can play it on either.

PC. I don't have a ps4 right now, had to sell it due to some money issues but I still got a crap pc I can play it on until I build mine.

PS4 version for me

I played the Alpha on Xbox One and it was awesome with the pro controller. I normally always play ID Software games on the PC. But since most of my friends will be playing it on console I will buy it on XOne

It is indeed a fact. You get much better precision and efficiency with a mouse + keyboard vs. a controller. Whether you enjoy one over the other is a preference.

No. This is a fact. A controller is all around inferior to a mouse and keyboard when it comes to shooters. Shooters are built around a precision pointer device and their gameplay does not require the need for 360 degree analog movement.

Everything a controller can do in an FPS a mouse and keyboard does better. Fact.

You can play shooters on a controller, but they need a hefty amount of coded aim-assistance and tightly controlled acceleration/jerk value to work properly and be fun and fluid. You don't need any of that with an FPS. Just proper 1:1 input from the hardware and a general sensitivity slider so the user can adjust how much mouse move they want. No aim assists, acceleration or jerk values required.

try playing a multiplayer shooter on pc with a controller, you will get destroyed. I mostly use controller on pc for singelplayer games

If anything, it'll be on my PC. No point playing it on inferior hardware at inferior resolutions, screen ratios, framerates, graphics and with no modability, slower loading times, less control variety, no G-Sync, no 1ms pixel response and I'd have to pay just to play it online.
