Can’t wait to play it.
These Doom games. since last decade have been one of the best thing ever happen to gaming industry man.
show how to do AAA modern shooters and AAA modern games without ruining anything. its very rare.
@ghosts4ever: I posted the vids review on the other thread. Why make this one?
Well whatever, anyway, I'll just post them here I guess:
And PC benchmark GPU review:
But yes, I'm really hyped to play Dark Ages next week!!! Gonna max the hell out of my gaming PC for this😎
@SolidGame_basic: Prolly cuz Mick Gordon isn't doing the soundtrack this time.
I still love Mick's BFG Division soundtrack. Pisses me off Marty Stratton massive ego got to him and the reason he treated Mick Gordon so badly.
I thought singleplayer FPS were dead, glad to see they're alive and well
nope. Half life 3 is coming very soon. so they are alive. or came back.
modern Doom games saved SP FPS genre in last 10 years.
It's looking quite nice. The shield mechanic seems to be a fantastic addition. I'm looking forward to trying it myself.
I don't think I will like it as much as Eternal based on the reviews, but it should still be a good time.
Can't wait.. 😎👍
Still playing Oblivion Remaster but gonna put it on hold for Doom: The Dark Ages.. after Doom, i'll finally dive into Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 before returning to Oblivion..
Not to mention still gotta finish Avowed and South of Midnight.. definitely been a stacked year so far; almost too much stuff to play.. 🎮
Excellent titles. plus different from each other unlike other games.
What are these "other games" you are referring to?
look at battlefield and COD. exact same since 25 years. no evolution, nothing.
Borderlands, not Doom.
Waste of time.
it need to be 2d indie mobile game to like
Modern Doom games in last 10 years save gaming.
Game Pass be like:
And that value, OMfnG that value:
And cows want all our games they just would never want an Xbox in a million years because it got no games.
But now Xbox games going to PS consoles now gotta be a lot of inner turmoil for die hard cows like "if it's wrong then why does it feel so right?!"
But damn now they gotta weigh paying full price because they never gonna get Game Pass and MS release way too much too quick and now rhey upping prices but only cows seem to care the most... can't put a price on your pride.
I gotta say though part of me wonders if MS ever plans to just give everyone a taste of what they're missing before pulling things back, start staggering releases to other platforms or maybe keeping things console exclusive again. Perhaps it's too economically beneficial to consider, but if they ever did, the results would be amusing.
@Pedro: hero shooters, extraction shooters and battle royale seem a dime a dozen.
Not sure what it was about PUBG/Fortnite and Overwatch that inspired so many devs to be like "what if we made this same game but not as good, surely it'll blow up as well!"
Extraction Shooters are weird. There are so many of them and yet they all seem niche. I think Tarkov/Hunt Showdown are probably the biggest ones (unless I'm forgetting something) but they don't seem that popular outside of a small hardcore audience.
I guess Helldivers is a extraction shooter without the PvP elements and it was probably the most successful one. and yet we are getting a high profile one from Bungie as well as Arc Raiders that are both sticking with the PvP stuff. personally, I don't really like the PvP aspect that much in these games. It just feels like you end up getting ganked a lot from squads who are there just for PvP, which makes it hard to enjoy the PvE stuff.
Then without the PvP, the games tend to feel a bit bland, since they are relying on that aspect to add excitement. Rounds where you extract without any PvP feel anit-climactic.
I find it interesting that Call of Duty tried adding a extraction mode DMZ, but they didn't stick with it. that feels like it should be a big red flag for other devs making extraction shooters.
An 84 seems a bit disappointing considering how good Eternal was.
Still really want to play this game though. But boycott takes priority.
It's the third game in the series reboot. Good game, but it is starting to feel really "samey"
I liked Doom 2016 but I could not get into Doom Eternal.....I kinda feel the same way with this.
But FPS story shooters aren't really my thing

Funny you say that because I remember COJ The Cartel seeing COD and going: we can make this, but not good.
And yeah Helldivers feels like a good cross between an extraction shooter and left 4 dead.
Because I swear you can spend a whole match, not collect a single sample or credit, and have an amazing time.
The PVP aspect is also what bugs me in Marathon, or maybe it's PVP combined with extraction. I'd play Marathon if it was a simple CTF or TDM game... I dunno, I like the style, I like the shooting, I just don't like the blandness/soullessness of Marathon. It doesn't do anything for me, as opposed to games like Battlefield or Red Orchestra where you play a role (a cog in a wheel) and that does everything for me.
But yeah helldivers still is great, it has style, it has funk.
Another aspect of FPS that remains is the hardcore FPS: stuff like Arma Reforger, Squad, HLL or even Ready or Not or Fallujah, those games are still around too.
Pure linear scripted FPS is dead though, was friggin' huge in the early naughties.
history's first 11/10 Xbox taxed to a 80-89 MC score but whatever I'm there day one baby 🤘🤪🤘
@lamprey263: The xbox tax excuse doesn't work anymore
🫢🤭😅😂🤣
I liked Doom 2016 but I could not get into Doom Eternal.....I kinda feel the same way with this.
Same, 2016 felt like slapping D00M and Quake together with some needed modifications. As a fan of D00M and Quake it was a match made in heaven on release. 2016 is a great game.
Eternal felt like first person Devil May Cry. & even as someone who loves the DMC series, I don't play D00M for DMC. So Eternal just felt like a game trying to be something it's not. Not to mention the tone shift in Eternal was really cringe and off-putting.
That's why I'm glad games like Dusk exist. if id Software doesn't want to follow-up what they did, talented Indies will.
Looking forward to giving this a go on Sunday with early access.
>START: /metal music
>INITIATE: /DEMON SLAY-AGE
8 is a good score , but it seems they left out cheats (Doom Eternal cheats) this time which made replability very much fun ( Floppy Discs collectibles Invulnerability , Infinite Ammo ETC ). Can anyone confirm this?
@Stevo_the_gamer: you finished with Oblivion?
I'm doing all the guild quests right now. Steady progress
Negative, still ongoing on both PC and Xbox gamepass. For some reason, I just got sucked backed into the Mass Effect legendary edition on PC.

Good, been meaning to replay those games as well. Wanted to check how they look in ultrawide and HDR.
Also if I remember correctly, half my team died the last time I played the trilogy, so I wanted to correct that.
Imagine if Half life 3 rumors are true and it get announced soon. Both Doom and Half life in same year or 2.
amazing.
@ghosts4ever: Ive read a couple of reviews and Im liking the suggestion that this game altered the recent fast pace of Doom 2016 and Eternal. (Although I love them)
I really like that devs use their creativity to bring new paces, types of gameplay. Looking forward to trying this on GamePass.
MSFT gets another +
