Kinda surprised you went with the 1070.

I need something to bridge the gap to the 1100 series cards. The Titan Blacks don't run VR well because a) It's a 700 series card b) SLI offers nothing in VR to this point. I just wanted a card that could perform well for cheap. The MEGA upgrade is coming next year.

Ah, I hear ya. I figured you'd roll with the 1080, but that makes sense.

I just built a new machine so I had to get something nice and I jumped on the MSI Seahawk 1080. It's pretty sweet, but I'm sure I'll cave for something new next year.

I would have liked a 1080, don't get me wrong. But the extra $200 for something I'm just gonna replace next year seemed kinda silly. And coming off my past 2 upgrades that involved $1,000+ GPUs, I figured I would try this whole "performance per dollar" thing out.

I tried to come up with a clever pun for this thread but couldn't....creative juices not flowing right now. But yeah, 20$ is a great price for this awesome game.

So, I got to spend many quality hours with Doom yesterday. The game is flat out awesome so far. I'm at level: Kill Olivia and I must say it feels much like a darker Halo game to me though lacking those wide open levels and awesome vehicles as well but man, the game-play, gun-play and just overall feel of the game has me hooked and well worth the 20 bones. Good Stuff. :P

The game is fantastic, but I had a crippling freeze that made me replay half a level over again. :(

yeah I picked up the CE for 50. I love to decorate my desk.
