Downsized from PS4 To PS3 Because................

THERE ARE NO FRIGGIN' GAMES !!!!!

Let me just say i love the PS4 as much as the next guy, but in this case i should've listened to certain friends, who advised me to wait a year or so for the PS4 library to build up,,,,, Man how right they were.

I learned the hard way, between the lack of games, and issues with the detiorating thumbstick rubber, the PS4 needs some time to mature and improve a bit.

So i swapped out my PS4 and games for a new PS3 500gb game bundle, and i am so glad i did, i got back my 150 games on my PS3 PSN account that were not transferrable to my PS4.

I also got back good ol' Diablo 3, which has no foreseeable release date on PS4, the new Ratchet & Clank, and many more disc based games............FINALLY a massively large library of games to play.

I have no doubt i'll be back on PS4 in a year or so to enjoy some Witcher 3, Elder Scrolls Online, and hopefully some Fallout 4, Uncharted 4, Infamous Second Son, and a Diablo 3 Platinum Edition.

However for now i need some games to play, after having played through the current PS4 lineup over and over already, the PS3 will actually be a nice familiar breath of fresh air for the next year or so.

the ps3 library is impeccable, my backlog is outrageous. once the quad builds a decent catalog and i get through this backlog, i will be moving onto the ps4. i'm in no hurry, the new consoles aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

You made a stupid decision in light of the fact that you knew what the PS4's library would be at and soon after its launch. Using its slim library as a reason to get rid of it is dumb due to your foresight. As for your claim that your DS4's thumb sticks were deteriorating, it's either a lie or an aberration. I've got two DS4's and have had them (and my PS4) since November 19th, and I have no such problem with either.

First of all games like Drive Club, Infamous Second Son, and The Order were all titles eluded by the developers to be in the launch window of the PS4, and were all pushed back, and they weren't the only one's.

Secondly, if you either Google PS4 thumbsticks wearing out you'll see hundreds of others with the same issue, or just look at a previous post i made here, with included pics, you'll see for yourself how i had to replace my orginal PS4 controller and find a temporary fix for my replacement that began to wear down from gameplay as well.

Yes i'll be the first to admit i get a console, play the latest and greatest games on it for 6 months to a year then trade it for another, to play those exclusives on that console, thats merely because i can't afford to collect games for multiple consoles and i like the exclusives offered on every one, otherwise if i were rich or even well off i would have every console, portable and tablet on the market and never have to trade anything.

Besides anyone in here who says they never traded one system for another, for one reason or another is lying.

However i'm not hating on any consoles, in fact i admitted in this post that i will be getting a PS4 in a year or so once the library builds up again.

Because i don't have an endless supply of money, thats why....i need to use the trade credit from one to get the other, and that combined with a few game coupons is just what i did.

I used to trade games and systems up until the seventh gen, but stopped doing it because it was so wasteful. I'd sell them at a heavy loss and re-buy them again later. Now I just hold on to what I have, and usually wait for a price drop unless it's something I have to have right away.

I am enjoying my PS4 although I am playing multiplatform games. It's not the first console launch I've been a part of, I already knew it wouldn't have a lot of great games.

What were you expecting to happen? A console isn't going to launch and instantly have 100 games on it, let alone 100 games actually worth playing.

Plus consoles always release right in the slowest period for games, at the end of November, meaning you have a (practically) empty December, January and February to look forward too and then a slow trickle of games until September/October/November where you'll get the usual overload.

The PlayStation 3 is no longer an option for me, catch up time is over for me and I would only be hurting myself by trying. I will either wait until 2016 if I have to, until I get a PlayStation 4 or I will just no longer consider myself on hiatus and just stop being a video gamer altogether.

Games take time to release. This is why I never sell my old console to upgrade to a new one with no games. I usually finish up my backlog and by time I'm done, some decent games will be out for the next gen system.

I want a ps4 now because I just like having new things and I can afford it, so why not. Plus I like to get it early to upgrade the hdd and get that out of the way because once the games start coming it gets hard to choose between " get a new game or get a new hdd"

What do you expect? It's a launch. Do you not remember how there were no games to play at PS3 launch? All I played when PS3 got released was RFOM. At least with PS4 I've got KZSF, BF4, AC4, and some indie games to keep me occupied.

The games you listed are only a few months to a year's time away, which is not much time considering the typical lifespan of a console; you could of waited.

Yes, but I didn't resort to selling my PS4, did I? Also, since then I've come to love playing BF4 on it and am only one Trophy away from earning the Platinum Trophy.

I have 7 ps4 games to play. Idk where people are getting the no games from.

I have ACIV, madden 25, battlefield 4, nfs rivals, nba 14, FIFA 14, KZ Shadowfall. Plus 5 psn games.

WAITED ??? i did wait, i played to the death or beat multiple times such games on PS4 as Call of Duty Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Killzone Shadowfall, Knack, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Resogun, Contrast, Injustice Gods Among Us, as well as other PSN games....All in All not much to choose from,

Did all of the above in less than 2 months time........Now i should wait another 2 to 6 months to play more games......NO THANKS....I'll just wait a year or so until PS4 has a more substantial library to choose from.

Knowing launches don't have many games is a no brainer. But why sell the PS4? PS3s aren't that expensive now. And you'd have both.

I knew this going into launch and it doesn't bother me. I have 8 games for PS4 and 4 for xbone, I'm good. Not to mention the backlog of PS3/PC/360 games to play. And now that I have PSn, I'm getting a bunch of games I' never had a chance to play. I'm buried in games ATM.

I don't blame you, and Watch Dogs and Destiny are both so far away. There doesn't seem to be any other major releases next year either, except those 2 and Infamous/Drive Club.

Well, you would probably have a lot more money if you were able to just have a little bit of patience and restraint. Buying and then selling consoles for a loss, only to buy them again later, loses you money. It saves you nothing.

So your plan is to waste probably around $100-200 or so? Selling a system and then buying it again in one year sounds pretty stupid to me honestly.

Why didn't you just go buy a PS3 and keep your PS4? You do realize that in less than 3 months both Infamous Second Son and Drive Club will be out and MLB The Show 14 will be in that mix as well! Stupid, stupid move on your part. You will be buying a PS4 again before you know it and you will have wasted your time and money with all of the trading in BS!

It's a Sony console. Wait two or three years for the inevitable Slim model which will be cheaper and much improved over the original PS4. By then it will actually have a variety of games to play.

Also since you already had a PS4 why didn't you just buy a PS3? You can get a used Slim on Craigslist for a little over $100 and you probably lost more than that messing around with trading in the PS4 for a PS3.

Who said i trade for a loss ? A loss of the amount of games maybe, but nothing ever comes out of pocket, because i very carefully utilize my gamers point coupons and wait for the game store to have the 50% trade specials going on.

So if i trade a system with say 20 plus games, i can get the other system and 9 or 10 games with 2 bundled with the system and the rest used and discounted.

You just have to utilize the trade offer and dates combined with the coupons right and nothing will ever come out of pocket.

First of all i never get a used console if i can possibly avoid it, in my opinion it's the same as buying a used car, your just buying someone elses headache that you never know how it was cared for, i take meticuloius care of my things.

Besides being this late in the game, i have to have a PS3 with a 500gb hard drive,, between some disc games having mandatory installs, and my 150 PSN games, i end up using 3/4 of the 500gb hard drive space.

The slims are really reliable, but I get the avoiding used console thing. I also agree with the 500GB thing. I just put a 1 TB HDD in my PS3 a few months back. All of the games from PS+ and movies I have installed to the HDD filled up the 320 GB HDD pretty quick and I got tired of uninstalling and reinstalling stuff.
