Dragon Age: Origins bad graphics, LULWUT?

The problem is Mass Effect looked excellent, so seeing as Dragon Age is graphicallya step backwards (Though it is a much bigger game.), people will declare the graphics are bad even though they are actually fairly decent. No where close to Uncharted 2 though.

Actually the character models look great on the PC version when I played it, about on par with Mass Effect character models. The enviroments did not.

Even from your screenshots it's easy to see that the textures are god awful, character models are lifeless, and their clothing looks painted on.

The PC version looks much better than the console versions for sure, but overall it's an ugly game.

It's not the greatest looking game, but I like the sort of soft style it has, overall it's pleasant looking.

Demon Souls has joined the battle-

You can't just compare an action game to Open world RPG.

You can only compare specific aspects (like character models) and even then you have to consider the surrounding circumstances. Uncharted 2 looks gorgeous, but its engine would crash trying to support all the resources that DAO needs. Theres a technical side that has to be taken into account when talking about graphics, its not just about what looks good on screen.

I thought the graphics were pretty bad myself. And they don't come anywhere close to UC2, KZ2, GeOW2, MGS4, or any of the big graphical power houses.

Sorry dude, the graphics aren't even comparable to Uncharted 1 OR 2. The character models (which should have the most detail of all) are very "smooth" but not in a good way, in a way that makes them look clearly like generated images, something like assassin's creed 1 or 2 make their player models look like people. Same with uncharted series and MGS 4. I don't really have much of a qualm with the mediocre graphics because it is such a fantastic game, but I would prefer it if they were a lot better.

Also has everyone forgot how amazing AC2 looked. Absolutely Stunning I must say! Especially in the carnival sequence.

I was suprised by DA:O, it looked alot better than i thought it would. But its not in Uncharted 2s league.

Playing dragon Age with texture resolution mods, and other mods which add different effects and character changes make the game look alot better.

If I played vanilla Dragon Age Origins at 720P then yes it would look bad, but I play with mods and at 1680x1050 res.

Well to me Uncharted has low res washed out textures like all console games.

It is nothing great when compared to a lot of PC games.

And yes that screenshot looks better than Uncharted 2.......high res textures, higher screen resolution, better looking overall.

But only a person who played it on the PC on high res, max settings with all the mods will understand that.

People who only stick to consoles will not see it because of the clouded bias that only Crysis can look better than uncharted 2 when in fact many PC games look better.
