I'm writing this to highlight the review of Dragon Age: Origins.

Having played, I would like the console versions to be drastically lowered. I took the console versions back to get the PC version purely because the combat is god-awful on both consoles. Not happy at all. I understand there is a aiming function by clicking the left stick but this doesn't really help in the more epic fights.

soooo, -1.0 for poor combat on the consoles. Seems a lot better on PC.

RPG elements are fine, if slightly overrated in reviews around the net.

Here's a better idea, write a player review.

You don't aim with the left stick. Either you didn't know what you were doing, or you never actually played the console version.

I have the PS3 version and the combat works just fine. Aside from a few glitches there is nothing wrong with the console versions of this game.

So nobody else is annoyed with the change from birds eye to 3rd person view therefore turning what is suppose to be a tactical party RPG into a action RPG where the combat doesn't supplement it well enough at all. And nobody else is annoyed about controlling your party with a controller, where a mouse you can click a healer out the way of combat and quickly click someone else ie a rogue into combat. And nobody else is annoyed that the characters only seem to attack people they are facing. Flawed flawed combat from previous dragon age's i say. I know GS ackowledges that the PC version is superior, but they only seem to mention that the graphics are better when it is soo much more than just the graphics.

Tell you the truth, it doesn't sound like you took the time to understand the controls on the console versions because I am having none of those problems.

Blog it, Seriously, there is nothing wrong with the console versions(other than the horrid textures ect. on the 360 version). I beat it on my PS3 yesterday and had no problems related to what your saying.

The Radiation from sitting so close to your monitor is producing ill effects.

The console versions are like KotOR on the original Xbox without all the bad lag. They're fine.

I own both console versions and love the game to death. As mentioned above, it plays nearly identical to KotOR and that game was hardly a problem on the Xbox.

I'm sure all PC gamers would be annoyed. I'm guessing that most people that like playing on consoles are probably fine with this gameplay.

Simple rule i live by:
Is a game multiplat on console And pc. Then get it for pc.
Except: When it is a 3rd person action adventure/sports game/fighter that doesn't have gamepad support on pc.
That's the way i do it and it always works for me.

The console games are usually more expensive, they lack options and support, and the gamepad is often worse than mouse/keyboard.

The TC makes it sound like no tactics are involved in the console versions. You still have the same commands, can position party members in certain spots and hold them there, etc. And playing on hard or nightmare difficulty will certainly result in a player having to make tactical decisions with most battles.
