Some games just stay with you forever. DQ8 was such a fantastic game and I've always wanted a modern sequel or re-imagining and the screens above for PS4 make me think it might finally happen.
Day one for sure.

I like the art and the main character model. The enemies are like so silly looking though, and since it's Dragon Quest the gameplay will be straight snooze town boredom fuel.
Would like to see that type of art, but with way more menacing creatures in a more interesting rpg.
Being honest here - 8 looks better. I don't like the overly detailed cel shaded look, less is more with this stuff.
PS4 version for sure. This is one game franchise my wife loves, and will actually play. I really enjoy our time together solving the puzzles, leveling up, etc. I'm sure it will be a great time just like DQ VIII. Cor Blimey
Wow I don't know what version I want. The PS4 version with HD graphics? Or the 3DS version that looks anime and has that old school graphics at the bottom? I can't choose!
Both look anime.
Akira Toriyama's artstyle rocks.
This is how you do multiplatform development, i will buy both retro graphics on the 3ds is pure awesomeness.
@charizard1605: sorry about this out of hand situation,char...just received a monetary update,it looks like I have to wait for a very very long time due to my currency's weakening against the USD. And that makes $1 = 13,700 IDR, if these games are worth more than $30...I have to make it wait for a huge price decap. Sad to live in a country where console/proper handheld video games isn't the biggest interesting topic.by saying this,I'm still proud that I lived where I was born, but as a gamer,I am not.

Yeah man, I know that feel, being a gamer (unless you are a PC gamer) is rough here in India as well.
@charizard1605: I started gaming with a PC,but as time flies by,I fell in love with consoles and proper handheld gaming and forsake the mobile and PC as I don't want to make a fool out of myself..people around me only know mobile and PC gaming and I'm a consolite, and as I explored deep into my own hidden gamer's culture..which some think it's a taboo, the majority of teens and kids played their mobile phones, and internet cafes more than they do consoles at their own homes..I tried to survey a bunch of teenagers last month, but I'm too scared of the answer that they don't recognize modern day consoles, not even this new Dragon Quest game. It made me feel like living among the braindeads, they talked the same "love topic" over and over again, that I will never understand, not even when I'm as old as my father.
Both the PS4 and 3DS versions look really nice. That's some great art design in both versions.
Also, there hasn't been a proper single-player DQ since VIII ten years ago...
Huh? Dragon Quest IX...?
@jg4xchamp: Wasn't Blue Dragon sorta like that? Same style, more agressive enemy design?
more interesting rpg mate, that was the other qualifier, and hell no. It was still a bit too cutesy, maybe later enemies were menaching though. I was turned off by the umpteenth time when the main character said, and I think he said this "I'll never give up"...ironic, considering that's exactly what I did when he said that shit one too many times.
